I’m a Wolves fan from way way back. This dude is absolutely ridiculous. Malone is gonna have to figure something out. You can try to double but the wolves have dogs everywhere that can make shots. I would have stayed with Reggie Jackson. He brought tons of confidence off the bench. Murray is obviously limited by that leg issue. If I were the nuggets I’d put MPJ on Edwards and live with the results. His length can at least keep a hand up on Edwards midrange. Ant is just too strong for kcp or Jackson.

Kobe, age 22, 2001 playoffs: had a games of 48-pts/17-reb/2-to, followed by 45-pts/10-reb, then two games later: 36/9/8... in the deadball era, no less. Jordan averaged 36ppg his first 50 playoff games, nearly half of which were against the Celtics and Pistons. It's a breath of fresh air, but let's not get ahead of ourselves, boys.
@DoctorMarshall7
27 күн бұрын
True, but they had less complete teams and had to carry a higher offensive load. Also, something that’s rarely talked about: Roleplayers have gotten SIGNIFICANTLY better across the league. We’re already starting to see a shift that it is no longer a superstar-dominated league (so many failed big 3s)
@jichaelmorgan3796
27 күн бұрын
@armanmarchiel4411 Those numbers Kobe put up would not go down in a non deadball era on a slightly more complete team. Anyway, he did have a load-bearing monster as a teammate. But why are we forgetting about Kobe so easily is what I'm wondering? 🤔
@DoctorMarshall7
27 күн бұрын
@@jichaelmorgan3796 For as great as Kobe is, he is one of the most polarizing players ever and its difficult to have a rational conversation about him. After his death, people have been split about how good his legacy was. In my opinion, he was great, but his passing has made him vastly overrated in recent years. That being said, Ant still has catching up to do to be put in that elite conversation.

@@DoctorMarshall7 So at the age of 22, after an incredible playoff performance and a championship, it may have been slightly premature to create a massive hype train and compare him to the GOAT?
@alanlee67
27 күн бұрын
@@DoctorMarshall7 Interesting point but defense doesn't exist anymore. Antman is great but anything accomplished in today's NBA is way overblown. Euroleague is tougher. Kobe's era was off the MJ era so teams were stacked with strong, fast, agile, smart, tough defenders because you needed players like that to even slow down a guy like kobe. That pistons squad that beat the lakers, you could argue that ben wallace was their best player and he barely put up 10 ppg but without players like that, you'd get suffocated in that era. Therefore it was much harder to score in that era. Kind of a testiment to lebron because he did well off the jump in that era but he had generational athleticism but never developed his game past it so he sucks now. TLDR, AE not doing nearly as well in the 2000s or any previous era for that matter...besides maybe the shitty 60s.

The thing that sets MJ apart from most every other superstar is his hand size and ability to palm the basketball without needing to use his other hand. Look at all of MJ's greatest plays, most of them he's palming the ball at some point. Being able to manipulate a basketball with a single hand is almost like having a 3rd arm. Anthony Edwards is very similar to MJ in many ways which is already the highest of praises, but MJ's ball control combined with Anthony Edwards package is what made him legendary.
