I am thinking to buy a car in this category and my other options are Peugeot 2008 1.5 diesel or Renault Capture 1.3 l petrol, what do you think the best choice would be, thank you .

Hi biltztom2685, Just of interest, Skoda now has the "Kamiq Runout" model showing on their website, with a drive-away price of $32,990. This model according to car websites is due to arrive in the 2nd quarter 2024 sometime. It comes with a 3 cylinder, 1.0 Litre Turbo engine, producing 85kW, 200Nm (VW T-Cross also uses this engine). Has an ADR Combined Fuel Consumption of 5.4 L/100Km. R e d b o o k also has info about it. Cheers.

In the UK this model is called “Monte Carlo” rather than “Signature” and it’s the most expensive trim.

In Australia the Monte Carlo Edition has cloth striped sport seats where the signature has leather/suede.

That engines 110 hp is about 4,5-7 lt/100km(depending the speed)extraurban and around 6,5-9 urban(depending the traffic, the temperature, driver's style)...The 150 hp engine consumes a little more...
@StevenG89

In Australia the 110TSI (1.5L) is equivalent to the 150 elsewhere. 110 in this case refers to 110KW and not 110 PS.

Why do reviewers forget to mention that these European cars take the costlier RON 95 petrol which then again increases the cost of ownership over its life time and limit how far inland you can take this car to.

95 Octane is a better quality fuel, and gives better economy then 91 Octane. The better economy stills puts u ahead, even if it costs 15 cents / litre more for 95 Octane. The engine is tuned to give optimum performance on 95 Octane. Better quality fuel, less carbon build up on fuel injectors etc Penny rich, pound foolish. BTW, 95 Octane is readily available around Australia, unless u r driving your Kamiq across the Simpson Desert, which, most owners don’t intend to do. 😳😳

You also forgot to mention that it's because Australian fuel isn't the same as European fuel. In Europe you can use 91RON fuel. Basically if you are going to blame a car due to fuel, also don't forget to add in the full picture.

Unfortunately SKODA Australia pure greed tried to take advantage of Australians by increasing prices by up to 50% during the pandemic shortage while the factory only increased prices by 3%. They also replaced the new 1.5L and DSG with the old 1.4L and torque converter on most Karoq models. Other cash grabs include dropping the new entry level fabia models and only bringing in one montecarlo fabia at $40K! We bought an entry fabia at $17K two years ago. They have also reduced base engine size from 1.5L to 1.0L on Scala and kamiq and dropped standard options such as nav and safety features. Shame the local distributor has trashed a great product line

Over all the kamiq is a good car but I didn't like mine because the constant road noices and poor stability while taking a square or sudden speed. I bought a Volkswagen tiguan allspace premium elegance 2.0 tsi 4×4 2022 instade.
