Best videos on the tube! Shows you that experienced riders that know dirt bikes well can feel a problem right away. Normal rider would have just rode that bike for years without saying a word...

This was so good for us newer to the sport. Simple real life explanations with footage particularly going over that small rocky section after lowering the fork in the triple clamps. Would this mean if you needed to make the front even lighter you would drop the sag?? Great Vlog thankyou!

Fun video. The bonding and memories you are making with your friends is the best part of the videos. You all share in something very special. BTW - I love the Shepherd's. They're my favorite breed of dog and I have two myself.

Thats exactly what i felt on the 24. The front end would simply NOT come of the ground. Didnt like it either, the rest was good/ok

Lot's of love going on for these new 2 strokes. TBI seems to be a big hit and I've heard the front end on the XCW is amazing. Hope Tom has been able to dial it in, I'll be dreaming of a 24 XCW hard enduro myself, maybe it can take me from c class to b? hahaa cheers brother Merry Christmas

I have the 2024 XC300. I had to modify the suspension a lot. It is now soft and comfy, soaks everything up. The best bike in the world by far. Soften up all the clicks and adjust the rake. Loosen up the rear shock two turns. I am rideing faster and it takes a lot less energy to ride.

My 2017 Husq TX300 is perfect for me. I have maybe 30 hrs of just testing on it. I don't ever want a new bike because I have to start from zero again. The factory moto guys have to start each season with a brand new bike and it always looks super frustrating for them.

…does it feel “stink-buggy” even with the sag set at the recommended 105mm? That’s the design of the new frame/generation. It has this new “anti-squat” character so the bike kind of feels like it rides higher in the stroke in the rear. I have the same bike (but a 250) and the next thing im going to try is a Luxon or Ride Engineering pull rod. They lengthen it by about 2mm which balances out the chassis a bit more. Drops the rear down about 6mm.

What about wheel base? What I mean is, where is the rear axle in its range of motion front to back? In my experience, this position affects the "heaviness" of the front end a ton. We can set the axle position by carefully selecting sprocket sizes (tooth count) against chain length (link count). An example...I recently went from at 14/54 gearing to a 13/50 gearing on my CRF. Same gear ratio but the 14/54 are larger sprockets and resulted in a shorter wheel base. When I went to the 13/50 the axle moved back and the front end just didn't rise for me. I had to take a link out of the chain to bring the axle back to the same position as it was with the 14/54. Now the bike handles the same. All this to say, where is that axle on Tom's new TBI? Moving it will affect sag, too, of course. Just spit-balling....

I rode a 2024 xc300 a little while ago.. I found it had a gnarly flat spot in the power at low rpm.. I wonder if it was that specific bike or not but I didn’t really like it.

Zach, what forks springs are in Tom's bike and how much does Tom weigh? 4.6 is standard spring for someone 165-187 lbs geared up. Too light of a fork spring will cause the stink bug/heavy front end feeling.

Your problem is the non-squating rear link. Talk to k-tech, ride eng, and pro circuit. Watch David Knights build of his 300 XC. They'll all tell you the same thing. Replace the rear link, you'll never look back.
@lukekelly5115

Thats not the problem when they moved the engine it moved the sprocket to a position that tightens the chain significantly in the bottom 2/3rds of rear suspension travel anything besides ktm fixing the chain geometry is a bandaid for that problem and why the chassis feels so stiff, not to mention the more I dive into the physics of suspension ktms designs always leave more to be desired with compliance and why even the a kit stuff people will replace the pistons for the comparable size showa stuff usually.
@williamcrotts7054

Easily corrected by adjusting the chain slack to 65mm. You're saying Cooper Webb couldn't ride the bike because his chain was too tight? BS. Too tight a chain would break hubs, cases and chain. Look at the stock curve with oem linkage and you'll see the almost vertical ramp up in the last 1/3rd of travel. There is a fix and it's not loosen the chain. If you're going to do R&D for KTM you gotta do better than that. @@lukekelly5115

@@joedirt38 actually the money making is part of the skill of dirt bike racing. The amount of money you make will determine how well you race due to better suspension, more training and going to more races. Why do you think we are old for racing? We couldn't afford to race younger. Many of us own our own businesses. I own two businesses.
