I’ve always felt like google and project based learning is the way to go. I haven’t done a lot of courses like that, but thanks for the honest review! I would have been really upset to spend full price on something to find it outdated and that the instructor wasn’t even being compensated.

Definitely! Hopefully it's just one of their courses that's that way. But i have to admit I still learned things having to implement projects by myself and spending a long time figuring things out, though not at a rate that I would have liked too.

I'm in the same situation: I enrolled in the digital marketing nano degree and it's sooo freakin outdated: all course content is 4 to 5 years old and I'm shocked. I'm going to ask for a partial refund because WTF - I'm wasting so much time AND money for worthless information.

Well marketing is not something that evolves that fast. The main concepts are the same as 20 years ago and even further than that. Funny😆

I would argue that marketing today is way different than 20 years ago. There's also a lot more research available on people's attention.

Sure, you pay much money for the courses. But the projects need to be done / coded by your own (so you lear by doing), you get personal feedback and also they have a lot of courses. So you cant just tell Udacity's ND's are useless only because of the React course. ;)
@codevev

I don't disagree. I just shared my experience and I still recommend Udacity as a platform to learn different skills, just not react :)

How much to take the courses?! 😮💨 definitely not worth it. I waited until they had the particular nanodegree i wanted available through a scholarship (business analytics) and I applied and got approved that way. I would suggest if anyone wants to take the courses but not spend money to do the same!

I've not taken it personally but I looks fine. I think it also depends on your experience and your goals. If you don't have any experience as a developer then you may want to get an AWS/Azure certification after that. For AWS-specific one check out skillbuilder.aws/ But as an entry level program I think this udacity course is fine
@ShittheswaranSelvakumar

@@codevev Thank you for your response. I've already completed the AWS Solution Architect certification and have a basic understanding of DevOps tools. However, as a fresher, I'm finding it challenging to secure interview calls. Given this, how effective would completing a course from Udacity be in terms of improving my chances of landing a job in a Cloud or DevOps environment? This is my main concern.
@codevev
Ай бұрын
I think in the last couple years it's been more difficult to get hired in general, with or without experience. If you already have the AWS solutions architect certification, then this particular udacity course may not help you that much. You're probably better off just trying to apply that knowledge on some personal projects or maybe even try freelance just to get more experience that you can put on a resume.
@codevev
Ай бұрын
What I'd probably recommend also is look for the jobs you want to apply for and see what they're looking for. If you're not familiar with something, at least go read about it. You don't need to be proficient but general knowledge would definitely help

I think it really depends on your level and what you're trying to achieve. I've actually heard really good things about other Udacity courses, so if you want to get into Machine Learning and/or Artificial Intelligence, maybe Udacity is still the way to go. If you're just starting out though, check out this video: kzitem.info/news/bejne/1qWMnYyCaXqQiXY But for a total newbie my general recommendation is usually to start with freecodecamp.org
