Hi guys. A small thing we discovered which is very useful is magnetic hooks. Our van is many steel so they can be used anywhere for drying washing and hanging old shower curtain on back doors for outdoor shower. We don't use shower gel. We use Dove soap. Lasts weeks and no plastic bottles. Also shop aldi or Lidl. Remove packaging as much as possible in car park and get rid of it. Cheers from George and Jane

Thanks for commenting guys! We’ll be on the look out for magnetic hooks! Yes we use soap and shampoo bars too save on the plastic! Happy adventures 👍🚐😀

I'll second the magnetic hooks - we got some smallish ones from Amazon but found the larger ones (80lb) could be used with some net curtain wire for a makeshift washing line on the side of our van. If sticking magnets to the outside of the van, some 'buffer' material is essential - I found the 'sticky' antislip mesh cut into small squares works a treat. My wife is a magnetic hook convert - we have about 30 in our van. Uses have included - glasses hook, key hook, torch hook, washing line, windbreak holder, first aid kit storer. Wifi - McD's/Costa/supermarkets/shopping centres and libraries - pretty much across Europe and decentish speeds. Showers - most major services on motorways in the UK will have 'drivers' showers - usually free but hidden round a quiet corner. Some have big sinks in as well with hot/cold water. Big tubs - we have 4 big tubs with lids that 'fold over' the tub bit - invaluable for gaining space in the van over a few nights stop as tubs can be popped outside full of non-essentials to give a bit more space in the van, even if it rains. If you venture to Switzerland - most towns/villages have a free flowing fountain which is drinkable water. Just use the flowing fountain water and not the water in the trough/container it runs into. One thing we found to stop the windows steaming up overnight - put the windscreen/side window cover on but drop the side windows quite low and get a small rechargeable fan and just have it blowing on low just to move the air about.

Inspired, thank you. Love the sliding table rail on the side door. Now why did I not think of that especially as I also have a sliding passenger seat.. Great couple, work well together.

Thank you dude! A sliding seat would work really well with that design - must admit sometimes it’s not the most comfortable after hours of video editing - but if it’s just to sit at to eat or for short periods it works great! 👍👍

You two do make I larf! Definitely think you will find it easier spending more time in one place once you're in warmer, drier climes. Winters in southern Europe, finding free park-ups near beaches in beautiful quiet corners of Spain and Portugal have kept me going in my van over the years. You'll need those surfboards and the yoga mat. Thanks for your hard work, enjoy the journeying, peace and leave no trace....

The no-spend days always feel good, but they can be few and far between :P the coffee's and snacks are still too tempting! We now have a little dog, so I don't think sleeping in past 7am will happen again!

We have a campervan with a chemical toilet but we don’t use it much now we either use public toilets or in an emergency we have a bucket with a lid on it we can then empty it down a public toilet and clean with a little chemical toilet cleaner or better some ecover toilet cleaner.

Flora & The Novice Explorers Thanks guys! Hopefully a new battery and an MOT will get our billy bongo back on the road, although we did have problems with the electric pop top(new switch fitted), if you ever go for pop top manual is much less hassle and the extra room/sleeping area is great👍

You’ve got me thinking and I’m pretty sure we all suffer the same issues, the worse one for me is loosing stuff , how it’s possible in such a small space baffles me. Loved your vid as always and perfectly presented one last thing I bet you could reduce your kit that you are carrying already. 👍👍😊😊

True- there are a few things we haven’t used yet, mainly roof box stuff but at least that is out of the way. The stuff in the van we are pretty happy with. Everything now has a designated home so we rarely miss place things 🚐 thanks peter! Glad to see your comment as always 😎

I suppose we are our own worst enemies sometimes, especially when we want to do something different or new. We can set off like a bull in China shop, realising that you did things too quickly is good, we all learn the hard way. Great video again, love the approach you are making, take each day as it comes. Looking forward to the next instalment.

Useful video. How has it been not being able to stand up to cook etc in the van? Is it a pain to make the bed up each day? WiFi is always an issue in rural areas. The bandwidth is poor. Telecom providers don't want to spend money there. I know I live in rural France!
@FloraTheNoviceExplorers

It’s not been too bad! To cook I sit on the end of the bench seat most of the time. It works well and I’ve got used to it. Making the bed in the morning isn’t an issue - just the getting out of it is! 😂👍

I liked the video, you guys come over well and the content is great. Just please consider how your videos come over with 6 adverts in a short video. I think 1 advert per video is respectful to the viewer and the creator, unless it's a teaching video you've put days of work into. Just my opinion though.
@FloraTheNoviceExplorers
5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for commenting we appreciate your feed back. In respect to the adverts we do try to be respectful and thoughtful- ie we build in specific ad breaks to not disrupt the content too much. Recently KZitem has doubled the amount of adds per slot so that’s something we need to address.
@johnmandy
5 жыл бұрын
I notice they pop 2 ads sometimes before the video plays, but the multi-ads during your video did break the flow of the video for me, you could always have a start and end ad and that way still bump up your revenue a little.

Loved the video! In rural areas churches are fab for outdoor taps. They always have them for the flower arranging ladies 💐. If you get caught no vicar is going to tell you off - unless he is the devil 👿 in disguise he hee 👍🏻❤️👀
