That was one of the best videos I have seen, and having tried to play the game for over 40 years it just proves the adage that you should always check the fundamentals. You really are one of the best coaches out there keep them coming Matt.

I’ve been following you on and off for a while now but I decided to work just with your videos because I was getting myself confused with doing a bit from everyone. My game has improved immensely in the last few weeks and I think that this video is the best so far because it ties everything together! Thanks Matt and keep them coming. 👍 🇬🇧

I shanked several shots around the greens today. To keep the game moving forward I picked up my ball in frustration a few times. I became lost in my thoughts about the golf game. Thanks for a helping hand out of the hole I dug for myself. No need to throw the clubs in the lake. Luckily there are no lakes on the golf course I frequent! While studying the swing I worried about keeping the left side active in the impact zone. So I thought that bringing the hands forward would ensure the left side being active. I’ve learned better since that thought. You’re a straight shooter and I appreciate your advice. It’s hard to keep a long story short, thanks again

Your videos on hand placement have been a HUGE help for me. I was always a hands forward guy and couldn’t strike the ball consistently. I saw one of your videos not too long ago about putting my hands more center of my body and my accuracy and distance have greatly improved!! Much thanks for all the info and I look forward to more great instructional videos! Love your channel!!

When I was a younger golfer I used to have a slight forward press with most of my golf shots. And still do if I find myself, though rarely, in deep rough where I need to dig down to get to the ball. This is a great video. Thank you.

You are fantastic. I really like the three drills for short game tee shot and green. I would also like you to talk about the middle shot on a 500+ yard hole. First shot driver, now you have some distance to go to green and what the best approach is in the fairway or if you’ve missed the fairway.

I mange to play off 7 but there are still things that make me feel uncomfortable. I think this great video may have put the club shaft position problem I have to rest - hopefully :). I keep being told to push the club forward slightly to make it easier to have a flat wrist on the back swing - and this works fine for many many golfers, but for me the swing does not feel as free flowing - I feel as though I am steering it. With this more neutral setup I know I have to concentrate a bit more on my technique to square the club face at impact (due to turn and in-to-out plane, etc), but I would rather work on that than feel horrible on the takeaway and not feel that natural feel you can have by not pushing forward. Anyway, love the videos - they are very refreshing and fun to watch.

Actually I have been doing this midsection set up in recent times with all the clubs in my bag. In conjunction to this I now place my trail hand in Fibonacci hurricane shape spiral and keep it fixed throughout the entire swinging of my club. I start my one piece take away with the slight pushing back with my trail elbow. Placing my hand lightly in a hurricane shape spiral gives my brain the blueprint I want the rest of my body to follow automatically as I swing back and forth my club. I know it sounds crazy and out of the box; but it works!! Cooper Osborn recent videos touches upon this phenomenon on you tube. And it has been studied by a few wise men and women in golf since 2010 so we all are free to test it out and explore this magic found in nature for ourselves. Cheers

one thing that helps me with positioning with the driver, is i setup the exact same way, but i let my driver rest and position in the middle of my stand, like 6 inches away from the ball. i still look at the ball, but my driver isn't forward directly behind the ball. this just helps me, personally, with my take away and fluid followthrough and keeping my shoulders square.

This would have been a great video if the camera angle for the chip and bunker shots were turned 180 degrees and we didn't have to look into the shadow of the ball position. Since watching your earlier videos, I moved my hands to my bellybutton position and my ball striking has greatly improved especially going over a bunker to the green.

Based on this I'm definitely way too far forward with a super strong grip. "Centerizing" feels very weird for me. It's been more comfortable for me when I start the shaft in a position that more closely resembles impact. I'll give this a try though.
