"A little dab will do you", I am old enough to remember the Brylcream hair dressing commercial . No telling what folks put in their hair these days. I personally don't have that problem, just wish I had some hair to put it on. Great video, it's nice to see that shaft isn't attached to the motor. Thanks for sharing...Ken

Great video! Replaced my bent blade and still vibrates like crazy. Better check the spindle. Like the hanging deck. Thx again😊

Nice troubleshooting. I may have bent a spindle on my JD deck last week. I'll have to give it a check.

I worked on mowers for years. I remember seeing crank shafts being bent on push mowers. You could take a large hammer and straighten it out.

Mine has vibrated for years. I replaced the blades, all belts and both spindles and still does it. I can see the belt drive belt shaking but not sure what’s causing it. I’ll try to check and see if maybe the deck is bent or the pulley is bent. I do know in the past it hit a brick, roots and a t shirt got tangled up in it so I really would not be surprised.

Dial indicator would tell you if it was bent before you removed it. Usually if the deck is bent there will be cracks in the paint at the bent portion. Cleaning all the green sludge from the deck might just reveal more problems. Take care.

Your mower looks like it was made by Poulan/Husqvarna like mine; I have had to replace one spindle so far in 4 years of rough terrain mowing due to a cracked bolt hole, and do lots of welding on the deck to repair cracks. I have a power hammer project ongoing and will be working on the air system soon....I wanted to pick your brain a bit if can.

With a bent spindle and a bent blade, you quickly assume your deck isn't bent? And with all the mentioned videos on KZitem on how to fix a bent deck?

it was the blade all along.

Any chance I could exchange emails with you regarding your variable speed controller for your Atlas Lathe? I'm building one following the design you and Mr Pete used, but have run into a roadblock. Thanks for all your terrific videos. I've been a subscriber since the beginning and enjoy your work very much!Best,Bob in Seattle

Does one blade spin with less resistance than the other? Was under the mower and noticed one blade moved more freely than the other, but wasn’t sure if it is meant to be that way.

Do the cheap amazon spoindles from china work alright or do you need to spend $100 on an "OEM" version?

How come the blade could not be bent. I don't see the spindle being the problem. You got a bent deck.

You should have been able to feel a vibration as bad as the spindle was bent.

I've never really had any problem using my spindle even if it is a little bent. Just saying.

Bullshit, you can buy those parts separately or complete for much less than Sears charges. Never buy anything from Sears parts direct they charge way too much.
