KPL88 It was new-year chart topper in 1999 in the UK and was the chart topper for the first four weeks of 1999 in Ireland, most people would have watched it at some point and know that Isaac Hayes is Chef. Apparently he suffered a stroke and he had to learn a lot of things again (such as speaking or playing the piano), and about the scientology stuff he said that they didn't get all the facts correct but it was ok, because it was south park and they do this things all the time. His son believes that someone from the cult quit for him.

Imagine being Isaac Hayes. You are one of the most respected names amongst your genre in the music industry. You are looked up to and other songwriters hold you to hall of fame esteem... And yet you also get to go on stage and do ridiculous stuff like this and people admire it just as much as your genuine music. Besides all the scientology and the stroke, you cannot deny Isaac Hayes lived a great life.

He had a song featured on the soundtrack to Beavis and Butthead do America (1996), but it wasn't released as a single from said soundtrack.

If you mean scientologists, well he was a scientologist for a very long time, and it wasn't a big deal until the culture really shifted towards hating them. This "scrambling of his brains" would have been a thing since before South Park existed, and they had no problem with it until 2008.

Yes, sadly, he is; in June of 2008, Isaac Hayes was exercising on a treadmill when he had what amounted to being a fatal stroke. By the time he reached the hospital, he was dead. Hayes was 66.

I swear, I’m fucking addicted to listening and watching this exact video. Like I watch it at least once a day. But like for real, Isaac Hayes is so fucking talented (I’m not joking, he is). This shit is so fucking funny. The band is amazing at what they do. So in conclusion, Isaac Hayes is a fucking legend, I plan on checking out his music. The humour and lyrics in the song are perfectly on point. The band is perfect and so fucking underrated! I think I’m gonna keep on listening to this at least once a day! @SG Hub nah, bro: highest grossing is really irrelevant -- his biggest hits include »i’m a soul man« (performed by sam & dave), »shaft«, »never can say goodbye«, »walk on by« etc. he was one of the biggest and most influential soul stars in the usa in the 1970s, way before the south park dudes’ parents even thought of sex. check out wattstax for starters.

This is a fucking sweet, funky and awesome performance, the band is great, especially the guitarist, he's really pounding that wah pedal, great performance, just great, no one has a voice like Isaac's, awesome, just great!!
