The Dagestanis have mad respect for their elders... he got up straight away when his coach called for him...treating him like his own father.

@James Sunderland yes there are mate... If you think there are not then you're just delusional...I live in England and many a times the student disrespects his coach thinking he knows more or that he doesn't need to obey anyone.

Not only Dagestani but Islamic culture is like this. Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings be upon him said: One who doesn't respect Olders and have no affection for younger one is not amongst us.

@James Sunderland Yes there are lots Why would they then breakaway and Hop from one GYM to an other Looks like the Dagestani boys are destined to stay with the GOAT COACH Xavier till the day they lay down their gloves Also the Dagestani culture is rooted in ISLAMIC Values

Why is it , that when you have a fighter that's a grappling specialist. Once they start striking, getting better with there combos , boxing, kicking ect. They almost forget the grappling ? Do you think it's that their confidence / ego gets in the way ? Is it due to training camp and striking drills. Is it the opponent? Pride? Is it just mentally difficult to mix the old and the new ? Glad you brought this up Coach , always wondered

If u started acquiring a new skill within a field that was very important to u…wouldn’t u try to do it more? It’s not about ego or pride, and even if it was how can someone answer the questions u asked about another individual? Only if u can read someone’s mind can u find the answers u are looking for

It’s so wild to me that Mendez has to constantly insist that Islam and Khabib use their most effective weapon. The only time I’ve seen him upset with either guy is when they feel like standing for a round, like Khabib and Al, Mendez said he almost quit after that cause Khabib wouldn’t listen. After the fight Khabib said he just wanted to feel what it felt like to go all five rounds. Any other fighter I’d think “yeah right.” Not with Khabib tho.
