For those accusing Apostate Prophet of lying about the extent of slavery in Islamic countries in the present, I suggest they carefully listen to his voiceover from 13:06 where he discusses the ongoing incidence of slavery in the Islamic countries of Mauretania, Sudan, and Libya. If these accusers had listened more carefully, they might have not been so quick to accuse someone of lying. No-one is perfect. We all make mistakes but, one should check one's evidence before shooting off an accusation that could harm someone's reputation.

He is not the first nor hopefully will he be the last. Apostates are often murdered for speaking the truth. Check out Dr.Ali Mazrui his lectures are on youtube and back in the 1980's hosted a PBS documentary series called, "Africans".That's where I first heard these historical facts and statements. Even then PBS ran a disclaimer in order to protect itself from an Islamic fundamentalist violent response. Ever read the "Satanic Verses" its author had to flee for his life because he was called an apostate.
@Eman_Puedama

@meluhawasy So you're saying he's only pretending that he was raised a Muslim? I find that very hard to believe. I also doubt he makes that much money from this, but it's irrelevant anyway. Almost everyone who has any significant audience at all is remunerated for it in some way regardless of what they're saying. As for 'misleading', how is he misleading here? - what's incorrect about what he said in this video?
@Eman_Puedama
4 жыл бұрын
@meluhawasy Well thanks for the reply, but you haven't added to what you've already said. If what you're saying is true and his 'entire discourse is specious' , then you to ought to be answer what I asked - which was, is what he's saying in this video true or not? To be frank, I think some of his content is flawed myself because I think there _is_ a lot of propaganda directed against Muslims. But I also think a lot of Muslims are inherently self-righteous and unable to see the flaws in their own history and communities. One thing that particularly irks me is that Muslims seem to constantly portray the entire Muslim world as oppressed victims of the West - but the glaring flaw in this simplistic narrative is that the most hard-line Islamic factions repeatedly ally themselves with the West and Israel to attack sovereign nations such as Syria and Libya. Perhaps that's human nature though - It's certainly not something that's exclusive to Islam - At the risk of going off on a tangent, but to put what I'm saying into context, I'll tell you that I'm well aware of Israeli involvement in 911 - neither do I believe the official stories of many other 'events' such as Charlie Hebdo and the Manchester Arena 'bombing'. To tangent off in another direction again, I find the official story about the Christchurch 'shooting' absolutely absurd and an insult to the intelligence. Obviously most Muslims would have no problem believing _that_ one though. So, my general impression is that people in general see what they want to see, and while that flaw is not by any means exclusive to Muslims, they're certainly no exception and for that reason, I definitely would not want to live under Islamic rule and I hope that never arises in the West.

An irony, perhaps, that boxer Cassius Clay converted to Islam, and took the name Mohammad Ali -- named after Mohammad, who owned both Arab and black slaves, and his son-in-law Ali, who also owned slaves. Yet the convert's original namesake, Cassius Marcellus Clay, was an abolitionist who went to jail for his beliefs. But the boxer saw white European men as slaveowners, and Muslims as brothers.

Let us not forget that the first person in history to write that slavery is completely unacceptable and immoral was St Gregory of Nyssa in the 4th century. He was a Christian who believed that slavery should be abolished. While it is true that most Christians did not agree at that time, it should be remembered that this was _only_ because they thought it was impractical: the whole of the economic system of Graeco-Roman civilisation was based on slavery, so it was difficult to imagine how slavery could be abolished without anarchy. Also, let us not forget that it was Christians who were instrumental in abolishing slavery: William Wilberforce, etc.

Slavery is - and always has been - at the heart of ISLAM. And it cannot 'reform'; because that is how Mohammed did things (and he was the most PERFECT Muslim). Whereas most civilised Countries corrected the errors of their ways in the Nineteenth Century, Islamic Countries have not. Yet 'BLM' (and fellow-travellers) in the USA and UK always level their charges - uniquely - against WHITE Countries: much in the way that they envisage ISRAEL as uniquely wicked in the modern world. ISRAEL does not have slaves: but her neighbours do! People who hold to the uncorrected 'history' they were taught by idiots, and frankly wicked people, in the western educational systems, are trapped in the realm of 'ideology', and will not see the 'truth'.

That's depressing. Depressing to think of how much nicer a planet this would be without Islam, or if it could have at least stayed confined to the Arabian peninsula. The middle east would be christian, africa would be pagan or whatever local religion they had, pakistan, afghanistan and se asia would be buddhist, iran would be zorroastrian. I'm not naive enough to think it'd be world peace, but man it seems like it'd be better than the insanity that Islam brings.

I have always felt bad about Europe's involvement in Slavery and US America's involvement, deeply disturbed and I once said to my husband, "No wonder so many African Americans have converted to Islam since Islam seems to have dealt with the race issue better." I was wrong. I still wish US American had not harmed the Africans and Native Americans (some are still being harmed) but I had no idea what horrible slave traders the Muslims were. There is a scripture in the New Testament that addresses those who has slaves, admonishing them to "Remember that you both have the same Father in heaven." I am glad to be a Quaker, a group that has (albeit imperfectly) fought against slavery in North America. I was surprised that some Quakers had slaves but what is interesting is that major movements on the part of the Euro Americans to start working to end slavery sprung up around the time of religious revivals in the USA. The USA has a difficult history. The Arab world has an even darker one and I have been told that European intervention has caused radical Islam but it looks like the Colonists actually improved some things. This whole video has been really ironic.

My small suggestion to you would be to make your content available in other big languages through additional channels in Hindi, Russian, German, Spanish so that more & more people will hear you & your goal of dereligionisation & deradicalisasion would be achieved faster. Today human race needs science & inventions & spirituality, not religion & radical ness that follows religious ness. Be blessed, be safe All the best

There is SO much thanks I want to give to you. For one I love history of all sorts, anthropology, geography and this particular topic. The second reason is that I was a student of public education in the U.S.... Its a never ending teaching of partial truths about the U.S.'s involvement in slavery. Especially in the inner city, its taught year around. It leads to whole generations of people ignorant of world slavery and believing the Caucasian race is single handedly responsible for the whole idea of "SLAVERY" which effects almost every decision made, to this day in the U.S. Anyways Thank You so much for an excellent video.

A useful and powerful summary; thank you. It would be great to see a follow-up analysing the way "maids" (often Filipino or East African) are misused throughout the Islamic world (even in Middle-Eastern embassies in the West), and are sometimes even cheated out of the negligible pay they are promised. A clear continuation of the slave-owning mindset.

Dear Apostate Prophet, I have to say that I teared up when watching this not because I wasn't aware of the subject matter, but rather because it's worse than I had imagined it to be. I'm a history major from the Philippines, and I was surprised you did not color the island of Mindanao in green. Slavery happened in these Islands too. The southern island of Mindanao and the Sulu archipelago to the west were where Islam was planted, and today still thrives. Even before Spanish colonization, slave raids along the coasts of the northern island groups of Luzón and the Bisayas were frequent;. It's very disingenuous for woke professors here to cite that slavery practiced in pre-colonial times was different from that of the "Western view" and that the slave raids only intensified because of Spanish incursions. The fact that most of the inhabitants of raided towns were either Hindu or followers of indigenous animistic faiths, and later Catholics under the Spanish and not Muslim syncs with why they happened in the first place and not in the Islamized areas. For a more contemporary perspective, I make it a point to discourage people who're finding work abroad from going to the Middle East, particularly Saudi Arabia. There are often cases when Filipina women who come as domestic helpers are treated basically as less than shit. Offenses range from physical harm to rape. Generally though, if you're not a Muslim, in Saudi Arabia, they make it tougher for you to rise in the ranks. Once you convert to Islam, they immediately change their tone and demeanor. This is also one way for them to plant Islam in historically non-Muslim areas, hence the current trend of what they call "Balik Islam" (in my hometown which is often seen as one of the most Catholic cities, I've already started seeing hijab-wearers when in my childhood there were virtually none. A Muslim girl friend from a largely Catholic rural area it turns out is also a Balik Islam courtesy of her father who works in Saudi Arabia). This latter phenomenon is also very disingenuous the way they project it. Yes I'm aware that Muslims believe that everyone supposedly started out Muslim and that it's not really a conversion but a 'return'. However, as a way to make it appealing, they'd make it look like every native Filipino before the coming of Christianity was Muslim, when that was not the case at all; hence being "Balik Islam" takes not just a religious nature but also one of historical reclamation. Sorry, I'm beginning to digress. But back to slavery, I guess that really is the reason why Filipino workers are treated as less than shit. The incidence is really frequent and we can't just let that slide. Yet, there's hardly any large outcry towards this ongoing injustice. Anyway, please do keep up the good work. I know you're an atheist but allow this Catholic to say that he'll definitely pray for you. I really hope you stay safe given the volatile nature of your content. Also, I suggest you put out your sources. I'd love to do further reading on this.
