Wow, love hearing the Bee Gees sing this wonderful song. I knew about the Kenny Rogers/Dolly Parton version, but didn't know the Bee Gees recorded it. (I knew they wrote it though)

I also saw Barry Gibb produced the Kenny/Dolly version. When a band has a recording career slow down if they can write/produce they can last a long time and still make a good living.

The original Dolly/Kenny version and this are both phenomenal, I even like the version on the Bee Gees 1 CD. For me, love the 60's stuff and the 70's stuff to about Trafalgar (sp?). When they started their turn towards Disco not so much. There is some good material there but lack of hits and sales must have made life at ATCO a tad unpleasant. However, it is when they make their turn towards adult contemporary style I kind of came back on board listening to them outside of their Beatle-esque/psychedelic pop era. More and more I am searching out material from 1987 on. For me, the songs in their 1987 album marks the beginning of the final stage had they stayed in Rock and progressed towards the sound they had on their last studio album. The only other thing I would like to I see see would be a full release of the singles they put out in Australia made available outside of Australia. So, for fans that like the older stuff, or others interested in hearing more of the earlier music, be able to enjoy a full release of music from the period that yielded Spicks and Specks. This would be a welcome respite for those who do not want to pay an arm and a leg for the rare Australian 45's when they show up on eBay.

Baby when I met you there was peace unknown I set out to get you with a fine tooth comb I was soft inside There was something going on You do something to me that I can't explain Hold me closer and I feel no pain Every beat of my heart We got something going on Tender love is blind It requires a dedication All this love we feel needs no conversation We can ride it together , ah ha Making love with each other , ah ha Islands in the stream That is what we are No one in between How can we be wrong Sail away with me To another world And we rely on each other, ah ha From one lover to another, ah ha I can't live without you if the love was gone Everything is nothing when you got no one And you walk in the night Slowly losing sight of the real thing But that won't happen to us and we got no doubt Too deep in love and we got no way out And the message is clear This could be the year for the real thing No more will you cry Baby I will hurt you never We start and end as one In love forever We can ride it together , ah ha Making love with each other , ah ha Islands in the stream That is what we are No one in between How can we be wrong Sail away with me To another world And we rely on each other, ah ha From one lover to another, ah ha
