As a rider (commuter), this reminds me that even the absolute best riders in the world still make mistakes about how much speed they’re carrying into a corner. this is such an important lesson to learn that no matter how good you are, you have to be super conservative if you want to be super alive.

Super conservative? Nah that's not going to solve all your problems man, but you are right even the best riders make mistakes. Identify your weak points and keep learning. You're not entirely wrong about riding conservatively and staying well within your limit, I just don't wanna say that I feel like a creates an ineffective mentality for progress. "Oh I'll just be safe" aite how though? A good rider can ride quickly, account for all kinds of shit, react quickly and know how to use their eyes, all while being well within their limit.

Been In High Speed All my life, except for motorcycles. In my time and in today's times, these motorcycles are absolutely gorgeous machines, and just as fast In my time as they are in todays time. Had a couple, But just never had the raw talent where I needed to continue with them, just because knowing my limits in four wheels, I knew I would push the same way on two wheels, and then I knew I would not be here anymore. So the two wheels did not last for about 2 years in my life before I knew I would be dead But it is unbelievable just to watch these guys go around this place, it's just unbelievable how talented some of them are. I watch these videos at Isle of Man and it literally makes my back and butt hurt watching these guys get about an eighth inch to a 16th of an inch from death at time's. It's Just amazing how they become one with their machine, something that I could not do.

@@waynepantry7023 O Yeah, I grew up with the typical YZ 80 back in the day then moved up to the kx125 And really not too long after that, 6 months maybe, I went with the KX 250 but I raced go karts at the same time and the dirt bikes were for riding with my buddies, which we rode Hard, a lot harder than the norm around here, an with my racing background on 4 wheel's, I pushed the 2 wheel's pretty hard which in turn made my buddies better riders as well. Eventually I went with a KX500 lol, No matter what I did, I could Not keep the front end down on that dirt bike! The go-karts, I was more at home with them and continued on racing from there. Just never had as good a feel for two wheels, even on the asphalt bikes, which I had, CBR 600F2 an a CBR 900RR. I even had three wheelers back then as well, had the 200x then eventually had a 250R, man you talking about something that would haul the mail!!!, I even raced the 250R 3 wheeler a couple times at a local track where I live but I always preferred the four wheels, it was just more my style.

That's the wxact same spot i almost had an off on my GS 1000 whilst riding the course on Mad sunday back in 84. Gave it some beans down the straight from Kates cottage and had a tank slapper half way down the hill. By the time i got the bike settled down i was carrying far too much speed on entry to the corner. I knew i was in trouble when the crowd of onlookers adjacent to the pub parted like the red sea. I owe my life to a pair of sticky Pirelli Phantoms and of course my Guardian Angel.
