This game has a lot of things going for it. It packs a lot of interesting decisions into a short period of time, not just what to price your tiles, as Tom mentioned, but which scoring paths to pursue and tiles to buy, and how much cash to leave for your own tile purchases. There's little downtime, which helps give it that addictive 'one more game' pull.

It was my understanding that the tiles you're pricing are in front of your player screen for everyone to see while pricing their own tiles. The coins and axe you assign to your tiles are behind the screen but aligned with their respective tiles. I could see the game working either way-one with more analysis paralysis (and strategy . . . and guessing) than the other.

+Andrew Wilson Yep, Tom is doing it wrong. Playing it correctly with the tiles in front of your screen is what gives the extra layer of strategy of figuring out how much money to save for that tile you really want.

Yes, you put them in front of your screen and that's the mechanism that on the one hand is the meat of the game, on the other hand it triggered some AP for me. You basically have to evaluate the worth of your 3 tiles plus all the other players offers (so 15 tiles in total in a 5p game) in each round. And while some are very obviously a no-fit for your island it still can be a lot to ponder about. I think I prefer it with 3 players max. But the bidding *is* very interesting, the variety in scoring to; the tile laying though, bores me a little. 6.9/10

Yeah, you're definitely supposed to have the tiles outside of your screen. I'm not sure if he showed the different side of the board which you play on under 5?

+Andrew Wilson Sorry everyone, I showed that part wrong (but played it correctly). I've added an annotation to the video to fix it.

That's pretty cool! I like how fitting the tiles follows the Carcassonne methods. Very similar with the maps. Obviously the rest of the game is different, but I still like how it follows that similar Antiquity Age.

I love it when you approve a game, smashing it rather violently. I wonder however, what would you do to a BAD game? I'd love to see that! Anyway.. onwards.. Love your review, as usual Tom. I bought this game today as a matter of fact. Great job! :D

I love the hammer come down and smashing all those tiles making them fly. I could practically hear all the component drop complainers gasping and yelling at there screens :D

It is possible not to place a tile, you could go first and not buy a tile from someone and other players can buy both of your tiles.
