Thanks, I was just wondering about the differences, here in Australia we do most things according to ISO and all my literature on GD&T has ASME on the front page.

Interesting. I'm familiar with ASME Y14.5 but not so much with ISO GPS. The ISO idea of position looks like a hybrid of the formerly supported tolerance of Concentricity in ASME (multiple median points derived from a cylinder and controlled for location within a cylindrical tolerance zone coaxial with a datum axis) and Derived Median Line Straightness (in terms of controlling one center point per cross-section representing the center of a local circular element). Looks like the ISO requirement is more stringent.
