I thought you cant rotate fischer projections 90 degrees because it changes the absolute configuration? I thought you can only rotate 180 degrees?

It won't because the priority groups don't change in relation to each other. Think about a clock, it moves clockwise (duh) but if you rotate a clock on the wall 90 degrees or 180 degrees it won't change the fact that it moves in a clockwise direction.

Yeah, I think that was a mistake but the same concept applies. There could be rotations 180 degrees that ask the same question about optical activity and you would have to recognize whether or not the compound was meso
