Israel's burma Road:
During Israel’s War of Independence, Jewish Jerusalem fell under siege from hostile Arab forces that controlled the roads leading to the city.
Jordanian forces captured the British stronghold Latrune and soon it became impossible for supply trucks to reach the city.
Convoys attempting to reach Jerusalem with supplies were ambushed and suffered heavy casualties.
The Lives of over 100000 Jerusalem Jews were in serious danger.
An alternative route to the city had to be found and the Burma Road was hastily constructed to bypass enemy forces who had dug-in and controlled the high ground, it was formed in order to provide the people with urgently needed supplies like water, food, medicine, and ammunition for the freedom fighters.
this new path was named after the famous road linking Burma to Southwest China, built during the Second World War.
A 4x4 vehicle is needed to do the entire path. However, many areas can be approached by regular cars.
In this video I did the path from the original entrance (31.825962, 34.943121) to Mesilat Zion.
