Great achievement. The Hezbollah war has been an eye opener for Israel to strengthen the ground forces. They only relied on Air Force at the time of that Hezbollah war. IDF Troops were rushed in to the battle fields without any camouflage. That’s how Hezbollah managed to carry out ambushes. Even so, the IDF still kicked ass.

They need a mesh of the same material to cover the face. The mesh would allow the wearer to see out, but not for the enemy to see him. Using fine threads would not reduce visibility for the wearer very much, while providing better camo. There was a US company 15 years ago working on an invisibility cloak. Basically, the idea was that a suit would have both micro cameras and micro LCD panels-the cameras would send data to a corresponding LCD on the other side of the suit. This way, what is behind you gets projected on the front, and the enemy sees right through you, so to speak. It never really got off the ground, likely because computer technology fleas neither fast enough, not micro enough at that time, to make the wearer truly invisible during movement. Standing still? Sure, that could work. These days, they might be able to pull it off.

Two questions: If the technology is to be used by Israel only, why patent it so the whole world can copy it? And if it provides thermal invisibility, that means body heat can't escape. Won't the soldiers overheat in hot weather?
