Oh man. Yeah, that's unfortunate. I guess that's just how it goes at times.

You could of sucked some slugde up n plugged up the oil pick up.n took a bearing out. 35 yrs is a long time to sit. I'd pull it out and go threw it.before you do more damage.

Yeah, I might have to pull the motor. The thing is I wanted to do a bigger motor eventually just not right now. I was hoping this motor would work so I can go to the local car show a few miles away.

Uncle rodny is knocking. That squeek it made sound like it spun a bering. Bet that's why it got parked

Yeah that could be what's going on. It has to be knocking for a reason.

Sounds like uncle Rodney is trying to get out, that or the torque converter bolts are almost missing

Yeah I was going to guess that's what's going on. I didn't think about the torque converter bolts tho.

If it's not a knock then It might be something in the belt drive or the torque converter bolts have backed out.

That would make sense to me.

What weight oil are you running? May want to try 20w50 and see if that gets rid of the noise.
@robbieshobbies93

Yeah thats a good point. I think I only used a 10w 30 for oil. That could make a big difference.

Why did you use a Drum Brake Master cylinder? Drum brake master Cylinders have a pressure residual valve built into the front circuit and hold roughly 3lbs of line pressure. This will cause disc brakes to drag. Secondly, you should use a proper disc brake master cylinder to have more disc brake fluid capacity. Disc brakes require more fluid than drums, this is why on disc brake master cylinders, one reservoir is larger than the other. The big one is for the disc brake side.

That's good to know. I didn't know some of that. Especially the line pressure on the front circuit. I bought the master cylinder when I originally planned on keeping the front brakes as drums but now I'm going to need to get the correct master cylinder. Do you know which master cylinder I should use if I had disc brakes in the front and rear axle? Would it still be the disc front/drum rear master cylinder? Just wondering for if I did swap the rear axle.

Does that have a smog pump? It would be an extra thing running on the fan belt besides the alternator and water pump. They usually just seize but maybe...

I just have the water pump and alternator running off of one belt. It may have had a smog pump at one point but it didn't have one when I got the car.

@@robbieshobbies93 That noise sounded like air being pumped. I'd look for an intake or exhaust leak. Audio over internet being what it is... But I would look for a leak before condemning the motor for that knocking sound.

Yeah that's fair. I'll have to do at least a compression test before long. I appreciate the insight. This is all stuff I've never dealt with before. Thank you.

Lol. I'm glad you are enjoying the videos. A compression test would be a good idea. I probably should do one soon. If I pull this motor, I will be putting whatever I can do the cheapest and easiest. Maybe I will do a small block chevy. IDK.
