I've been meaning to go get a couple pounds to dust the tops of the batteries with to neutralize things, just too many other things on my plate

Thanks. Antioxidation grease off amazon may help. Tiny tub goes a long way.

Invest in lifepo4 batteries, your going to get absolutely years of use out of them and will bring a new chapter to your channel. They cycle very differently from lead acid without damaging them. They don't have a "gassing" phase its just straight liner charge from empty.

I'm concerned about how they would handle the abuse I put my batteries through, when the turbines are running they get hit pretty hard. Keep in mind that I don't use my turbines to charge my batteries, I use my batteries to control my turbines. Even if my concerns about blowing them up weren't an issue, though, there's simply no way I could afford them. The funding for this channel is entirely ad revenue, donations, and change found under my couch cushions lol

I just bought ista breeze i2000, bridge rectifier and 4x 12v (lead-acid) batteries for 48v. I wonder. Because the battery is creating resistance to brake the wind turbine when it reaches certain voltage. But is there a risk the turbine makes more voltage than needed and damage the batteries? (Maybe if they are fully charged for long time)

You absolutely can overcharge the batteries, you need to make sure you have some kind of dump load connected to prevent the system from overcharging. With mine I dump everything into grid tie inverters. You need to have some kind of load...resistors, inverters, lights, something...capable of absorbing all the power the i2000 can make in the event the batteries are full.

@@ToysforWatts Thank you for explaining. I look more into it. I remember you showed a device in one of your videos, I believe it was A30 controller. Might use that one to protect the batteries when they reach a certain voltage

Does the heli 2.0 really make 2kw with a 2.2m rotor diameter?

I'm quite eager to get it up and flying, the tower is almost ready to go up. I'm really interested in seeing how it performs next to the 2.0 as well.

What kind of cable do you consider to be the best between the turbine and rectifier? Please some advice, thx!

It would die :D Unfortunately it's a possibility that simply cannot be negated. However, it's quite improbable.

i'm only getting 100 to 125 watts out of the i1500 which i have connected to a 2000 watt inverter like the one you have, i just don't have the three change input but the plus and minus input. I had first put it right on the blue inverter, but if it started to rotate too quickly, the voltage became too high and it did nothing. that's why I added two solar panels in parallel so that the voltage does not rise too quickly, but now it does not exceed 100 to 125 watts when running quickly do you have any idea what i could try?
@ToysforWatts

Your inverter is a solar inverter if I'm reading this correctly (two DC inputs instead of three AC inputs), is that correct? What kind of rectifier are you using to convert the turbine to DC for the inverter?

@@ToysforWatts I use the same rectifiers as you, I thought it could be done without those batteries. should i put a charger controller in between would that work?

I think in this video we were sitting at around 15mph sustained winds with some mild gusts.
