You are Turkey's national treasure! I have been reading and watching for months for an upcoming trip to Istanbul in early September. I have learned more from you in the last hour watching four of your videos than all the others combined. I'm staying with friends at their condo in Kadikoy so your enthusiasm for it really resonated with me. I will keep watching and follow your links. Thank You so much!

I agree with you guys with the great Airbnb recommendations .I was in Beyoglu ( Cihangir) last month and I absolutely loved the area . I had the chance too to visit Kadikoy - Moda and that will be a place to consider in my next Airbnb experience. Thank you ! 😊👍🏽

I always choose Cihangir. Although, I enjoy the Rumeli Hisar Ustu/Etiler/Bebek area as well. Which is amazing! I was grateful to attend Bogazici Universitesi for two years to know how amazing living on the Bosphorus really is.

Not every visitor is the same or wants the same experience. As a New Yorker there is no way I would stay in Sultahamet area. It is beyond packed and honestly the vendors are predatory and really take advantage of tourists. As a person who loves art, culture, galleries, local artists, I may stay in Cihangir, but prefer the Asian side and take the ferry in. Istanbul has great transportation so you can easily get around. A lot of people really miss the local artisanship in Istanbul/Turkey and just see the main sights. It’s really about what one is looking for and the profile of the visitor. Great video. Are there any restrictions on investments for Airbnb’s? Do they give licenses anywhere?as an example, in Lisbon and Porto they stopped giving out Airbnb licenses to apartments.
@AladdinsTurkey

Airbnb hosts in Istanbul must have a 'tourism operation licence'. This is simple to get for a house but not for an apartment. Hosts must either get the approval of everyone in the building or register the flat as a workplace, rather than residence. The apartment owner must also declare the place to the tax office.

Thanks a lot for the info about good locations for airbnbs! I have visited Istanbul twice and both times stayed in Fatih at the same hotel ( Levni). Each time I stayed for very sort spells ( 3 days). However next time I want to come for a longer time and it's good to have this info. Kindly could you also do some videos on airbnbs in Beşiktaş and Şişli and Üsküdar etc interviewing some airbnb owners or people who stay there and how to book etc. Would be very helpful! Many thanks to you guys!!!👍
