The house looks similar to Forest Service conservation quarters. And the barn possible would have been used for the mules. In the 40's - late 60's/70's the forest service used mules as a means to patrol/explore the forest. And the workers lived on sight. However I watched the REST of the video and you explained the "REST of the story".....it pays to watch to the end! 🤣

the building with the concreate pool like is for water storage. we had one when we were living in W.estmoreland ca, then it was pumped into the house, we also had a pond and that was the source of water for the whole homestead.

fascinating ! To think during it's day the sweat and work that went into building a sustaining business with homes and utilities in the middle of 'no where'...They had to have some accommodations for those landing there ever so brief, plus for a family and/or staff. The cellar with concrete walls was I'm sure meant not only for storage of food but for security from storms. Amazing, thanks for sharing /

Curly Wallace could possibly have been the land owner at one time years ago & the name for that area known by all the old timers would be referred to as Curly Wallace. Kind of like Ivey's bend below my house. Ivey owned all that land. The sharp "L" shaped curve has then become known as Ivey's bend. Just an idea for the name, with an true example. My Grandchildren won't know Iveys Bend, just know the bend in the road. Hope that wasn't confusing Jimmy.

I wonder if the small building away from the main building for safety with the drywall and concrete container was a inground 'fuel' tank. The idea of excessing a landing place in the middle of 'no where' would be to refuel.

Sadly that was a horse skull Jimmy. I always find myself wondering what happened to the animals in places like that when remnants of bodies are located scattered about. I guess there's only so much ranchers can do and if they were wild, nobody there to care, I guess, which is so sad. Awesome campsite otherwise.
