@magentamonster

No matter how humans evolve, they will never be marsupials or pigeons. Why? Because we're not related to them. Only marsupials can become marsupials, and only pigeons can become pigeons. Also, "devolution" is not a thing. If humans evolve to have feathers like pigeons, that would be an extraordinary case of convergent evolution.

That statement is nonsense. Anteaters share a common ancestor with all life on earth. And their closest living relatives are sloths; they share a common ancestor 55.8 million years ago. So what anteater ancestor is he talking about? Their earliest ever ancestor, their earliest ancestor that they don't share with any other organism, or the most recent common ancestor of all anteaters? Indeed, the anteater ancestor from 66 million years ago is also the human ancestor. And the dog ancestor. The horse ancestor. The elephant ancestor. The mouse ancestor. The bat ancestor. The cat ancestor. It is the most recent common ancestor of all placental mammals. So he's not making any sense.
