My band Evolution won Windsor Battle of the Bands at the amphitheatre in 1970, 71 and 72. 2nd place,1st place and 3rd place again. Loved those years. Thank you for this.

I too remember the BTO concert. Went with my buddy Jerry Haskel. Admission was a chocolate bar wrapper! I believe the opening band had a song titled " The Frisbee Song". Ron Binks

Griffin Hollow was a great spot for a concert! I saw BTO there I guessed '75 but other folks are saying '74 unless they played both years. I'm sure Montrose was supposed to be there but had trouble at the border? Anyway we had girls with us and had a great time. Don't recall the Blues Festival story very interesting! Thanks for this video!

Michael, this is a great piece to submit to the WIFF shorts for this year's fest. Perhaps you can add a little more to the short about who those guys are who appear to be the designers and what company did they work for?

I was there at that Battle of the Bands! My buddy and I cheered-on Mynx with everyone else. They were really good. A couple songs from their set is here on YT. I guess the guitarist went on to join Helix.

Yes, Mark Chichkan played in Mynx and is now lead guitar in Helix.

The BTO fiasco was amazing. It was 1974 & the day that cemented my 4yr old son's debut to rock & roll adventure, it was a bit of a misunderstnding that cost fans just a Hershey's chocolate bar wrapper to get in. SORRHY BTO, but is was one anyazing concert. And what a great place to tobbogen in the winter.

The hill's not there anymore? I guess it's probably over 20 years since I've seen it lol We used to plant trees with Trees for Canada every year at St. Clair College. They bulldozed all the trees we planted and put in student housing! Progress!

No they took the hill out a long time ago. Now the only hill around is Malden Park.
