I got about 50 red papaya seedling inside right now I got all the biggest and healthiest seedlings in one of my grow tents with some gelato and nycd babies. I found out papaya farmers soak their seeds in diluted potassium nitrate for A couple hours and I did half and half to experiment all the seeds I soaked in the mixture popped tails two to three days later and all the seeds I just soaked in water and planted took a whole nother month before they sprouted tails.

Most tropical plant are drought activated because the tropics have a dry season. Once you let the seeds dry in the sun for a couple days they will sprout in about 3 days as well

As someone from a tropical asian country who had grown 10 papayas and other fruits I am proud of Jessie for growing papaya in Canada. Someone from my country who is an agriculturist successfully grown apples too but in the mountains with 18-22 degrees celcius temperature at the foot of the mountain.

Istg we have 4 stray papaya trees growing in our backyard. It may be the birds ofc, but still pretty surprised. They're already maybe 3ft tall, we're kinda unsure if moving them to a more wider spot will stunt it's growth, coz they're sitting right beside our concrete fence. Tbh we wanna have the fruits even if we didn't plant them.😅

Green papaya is eaten by cooking. We use them as a sort of vegetable. Kind of like chayote. Slice it up in a stirfry or boil it in chicken ginger soup.

Does your indoor grow set-up include a heat mat? You may want to put your tropical trees (papaya, mango) on the heat mat when you bring it in for Winter. And make sure you water it. Please keep in mind that papaya is a TREE. It's not a common veggie or house-plant. EACH seedling needs to be transplanted to ITS OWN POT. They need space for their roots to grow without getting all tangled together, competing for resources. I like to use empty 1/2-gallon milk cartons for tree seedlings. They come free (all you have to do is drink the milk) and you know they hold water. Use a paper hole-punch to put drainage holes in the bottom. I hear that Canuckistan heathens use plastic bags for their milk. Maybe they sell juice in cartons? Or goldfish crackers maybe? If you can't easily obtain milk cartons, maybe use 100cm PVC pipe with end-caps on bottom. Use whatever length of pipe and your baby tree will have that much space for its roots to grow down into. I think I'd go with 1/2 metre length (depth). This could be entertaining. When it comes time to transplant the tree into the ground outside, you can use a manual augur to dig a straight vertical shaft into the soil and then just take the end-cap off the bottom of the pipe then put it into the hole and let it slide out of the pipe, straight into the hole. I'm having trouble with conversions. I would use a 6" diameter augur, so I'd transfer the tree into a 4" diameter pipe. (Also, I would dig the hole MUCH deeper than the transplant requires and I'd mix some of the soil with compost before pouring it back into the hole, so it would make it much easier for the tree's tap-root to dig down deep into the ground. For this, I'd want to get the manual augur with the extendable shaft. And buy extensions and connectors. Just don't accidentally dig a well. Having free water supply for your garden like that... That would be frowned-upon.) If you're just growing them in big pots... please grow just one per pot. They will thank you (with papayas).

There are more types of papayas. The one I like doesn’t taste or smell like doodoo. Do some more research and go out and buy the more that doesn’t stink. Mexican stores that produce, meat Mexican breads and spices. Or an Asian market, market as in produce spices Twas cooking supplies as in rice cooker, step stools, rice shapers. I pretty much only shop at these stores unless it’s bulk or almond milk.
