Hi Ashley! I love that you are taking some time off--I did the same and it has been so therapeutic for me. I'm doing my product planning and testing now which is one of my favorite things! A challenge that I had in 2023 was 3 of my wholesale customers closing their businesses. I'm having to pivot and now go out and find a few new stores to carry my products. Since the economy is so fragile right now, do you have any suggestions on how to approach businesses? I have no fear at all in going in and talking to shops, I'm just looking for a way to make stores more willing to carry my products. I won't compromise on my pricing but maybe there's some creative selling agreements I haven't thought of!

It’s definitely a bit more fragile than the first few years when I started. I’d just go in with full confidence of your product and sharing that with your stockists in a way that eases their fears. If their worry is investment, maybe be flexible with initial minimum purchase. If they are worried about how their customers will respond, give them delayed billing or an option for a trial run, if the products are in great condition, buy them back and you sell them if they aren’t moving at an agreed upon speed. I think this goes a long way because you are partnering with them rather than dropping your product off and waiting for them to reorder. Does that help?

Thank you! I actually don't require a minimum purchase so that the customer can decide what they want to carry without the pressure of having something on their shelf ie a specific fragrance, that doesn't move as fast as another. I appreciate your insight and I'm excited to see what 2024 will bring!@@UpsideGoodsCo
