I saw James ride at Cooperland in Oklahoma way back like 1998 or 1999. I moved to Murrieta, California in 2000 and all my new friends and the moto crowd at high school made fun of me for being a fan of a 14 year old Bubba. While everyone else had McGrath and Carmichael stickers on their binders, I had James amateur photo in my binder cover and boy did I get chirped for 2 years straight. They sure weren’t laughing after 2002 😊

I flagged at Thunder Valley. I was at the top of the hill next to the sign and a cameraman. What I noticed was that both Lawrence's would hit that top plateau faster than anyone, standing up, and basically coast around the turn up top. Other riders would accelerate hard at the top through the turn, but only because they scrubbed off their speed before arriving at the top. The Lawrence brothers looked like they were coasting, because they essentially were in that turn. Seems like they're sharing info how to go fast. We haven't seen really any rider change the sports way to ride since Stew. If the competitors are paying attention, the Lawrence brothers might be the next evolution in riding.

Just a little point I think is not recognised in the Cooper, Lawrence battle in the 250's is Cooper came up through the field in the last moto and how Lawrence needs to be aware of it....... Lawrence has been doing that all year from similar 1st lap positions 3 out of 6 he's been outside of top 10 at some stage on the 1st lap yet moves upto a 3, 3, 2 positions, in saying that I don't think Lawrence will be that concerned with it because he also knows he can move forward and he can do it while being somewhat injured, doing anything with a rib injury is bloody uncomfortable let alone ride a bike. I'd like to see Cooper do it on more than 1 occasion before I'd believe. I also Lawrence would have nearly caught Cooper if that Deegan cat and mouse games don't happen because that little exchange cost him 5 or 6 seconds, but that's racing.

Exactly. People act like he’s suppose to win motos or podium every weekend just because he’s pretty damn fast for a 17 year old. Jett was hardly winning his rookie seasons. The 250 class is loaded with talent and aside from cooper and Hunter, there’s not really anyone that can get a start outside the top 5 and make it back to the front.. some tracks shimoda and RJ maybe, but the whole top 10 to even close to top 15 running within 1-2 secs of eachother outside of 2 maybe 3 guys. Give him another year or 2 and he’s going to be damn near unbeatable in the 250 class, assuming Hunter and cooper move up.

So you think you should just let a guy by bc he’s faster? A team doesn’t pay you to just let people by because they are faster. Blocking and riding wide and trying to keep the guy behind you is part of racing.. that’s a dumb ass take

It's been a long time since a true privateer made waves, who here remembers the privateer Boo Stichter from Colorado who's famous for leading Bob Hannah, Kent Howerton, and Marty Tripes for 30 minutes in BOTH motos at Lakewood in 1979, on a stock KTM250..I'll bet nobody,.. or Arlo Englund National #4 in the 500 class as a privateer 1979

You ever think that the factory riders don’t want/like softer suspension? Even if it worked better, it might not feel better to them compared to what they are use to riding. Idk enough about the suspension and the bikes to know what exactly helped the privateers out, but something def did bc they have raced plenty of times and are never close to the top 5 and they didn’t get that fast in just a few days

That gate was cockeyed, the outer ends were in the grass.

Jo's problem is pro circuit Kawasaki!! Every rider on that team is struggling or out with injuries and this has been going on for years. Think about it.

I’m still trying to figure out where he actually cross jumped… the only thing I see is him move over from outside to like the middle in between the two jumps, which isn’t a cross jump.

1st gear start??? Seems like 2nd is a lot safer as far as not hitting neutral and the power should still be enough especially with those metal start grate. I always agree with JS7 but I gotta wonder on this one.
