I really like how although 14 has the same face as 10 he's clearly still aged and matured mentally thanks to, you know, having had more than a thousand years of experiences since he was 10. Also the fact that the Doctor is now at long last able to admit and say that he loved people when he clearly had so many issues trying to do so in the past is just adorable

The memories came back to Donna all the time. Through her daughter. The way she followed him, took the sonic when he was doing the bullet proof glass. Letting it go, River Song did too.

Okay so mine and a few other whovians theories about the whole “let it go” thing is; A joke about how previous male presenting time lords have always struggled to let go of the doctor BUT Jodie’s doctor welcomes it with open arms. Another one is that its been a known fact since classic who that Female presenting time lords are more powerful and have more control. As shown by The Rani when she tells the doctor he’s stuck with his regeneration but she can change her appearance if she wants and when Romana I regenerated into Romana II she took the face of Princess Astra willingly because she wanted to. Also shown by River in Let’s Kill Hitler when she tells Rory to be quiet while she focuses on a dress size! I like both and think both apply but people are torn between
@thestarsthemselves.

Yeah very interesting. River also "let go" of her regeneration energy to save the Doctor in Let's Kill Hitler and was able to be shot multiple times and be fine (she was in the middle of her regeneration cycle but still). Though even that idea that she could "let go" of the ability to regenerate doesn't seem exclusive to her since the Doctor gave her some regeneration energy to heal her hand in Angels Take Manhattan. Also, I actually didn't mind the whole concept of Donna and Rose letting it go. Lots of people on the internet have gotten quite heated about it 😅 But I didn't mind that, I just wasn't a fan of the whole "male-presenting time lord" thing. I mean he was just a woman and he still has that experience in him. Plus it just felt like an unnecessary jab at men when it wasn't really relevant or important to the storyline imo. But yeah, didn't ruin the episode for me at all. I still thought it was amazing and I'm so excited for the coming episodes and seasons!

I think it was the TARDIS's fault. She pulled that control room from the archives, with the coffee maker, and she sees the past, present, and future. And Timelord technology is a billion years more advanced than human tech. I don't think a cup of coffee should do as much damage as this seemed to. I think she knew coffee would be spilt and that the Doctor was needed elsewhere. I smell a set up!

Wait could the living sun be refering to akhaten or something similar?

That was my very first thought! And then I thought of the living sun that was being harvested for fuel in “42” with Martha and possessed people (including the Doctor).

I’m n the original comic the meep planet came into the orbit of a dark star/black sun. I guess they changed it to a living sun that went mad/psychedelic for more drama and fantasy. I never made the connection with Akhaten that’s a good point! I imagine there must be entities similar in the universe.

I kinda wish I hadn’t watched them but they’re everywhere. It’s very hard to avoid spoilers. I didn’t watch the next time trailer for Wild Blue Yonder though so I don’t really know anything about it and it’s encouraging to know that there was almost no footage from that episode in the original trailers. From here on out I’m gonna try to stay away from spoilers for Ncuti’s era especially. I love to be surprised, it’s just nearly impossible to avoid spoilers without staying away from social media.
@TonyMiller423

@@thestarsthemselves. No doubt spoilers on the internet are a minefield. I don't mind seeing the offhand comment or picture, but seeing actual clips play out, out of context is what detracts for me. I guess also just realized that youtube is only social media adjacent thing I tend to look at anymore. Just for lack of interest more than anything.

I actually think the “It just felt like the sort of thing he would do” line refers to Donna’s father, Jefferey Noble. He’s mentioned in The End of Time part 2, was there in The Runaway Bride, and deleted scenes show Wilf’s storyline was originally meant to be his, before he passed away in real life.
