Indeed, lanolin is one of the most fascinating natural products for me, a large range of uses, I’m 26 and have never bought fully synthetic clothes and never set foot in a primark for that reason, synthetics only really have a advantage with sports/hiking uses but even then merino blends are fairly affordable these days and do very well for that purpose.

@@scrottydyer_6821 indeed it is lol. All this bs synthetic fibers cost nothing to produce and they sell it to the consumer with a premium price tag. It is better to have fewer clothes of superior quality. I wouldn’t touch blends either as they usually contain a larger % of synthetic fibers than natural ones.

Harry there are uses for alpaca fleece. We own/breed alpacas and have a shop mainly selling things made from alpaca, hypoallergenic, warmer than wool and softer. You can even get it made into duvets and pillows which are incredible and I am always amazed so many people sell their fleeces so cheaply or even do nothing with them.

I really enjoy the Harry's farm videos as I have worked for agricultural machinery dealers and horticultural (garden) machinery dealers so I tend to understand seasons and machinery maintenance. We get loads of unprepared people who assume their ride on mowers don't require checking and then realise that they should have when they are halfway cutting their lawn and the mower packs up due to belts not being checked.

Hello Harry, thank you for the effort of bringing farming closer to most of us non-farmers. You said in the program, that you use roundup, which is a Monsanto product that has gotten a lot of bad press in recent years because of the likeleyhood of causing cancer. I do understand, that you are running a buisiness there and that it is not always as romantic, as most non-farmers probarbly want it to be. I would be tremendously interested in a video about chemicals, aids and products in general that you have to use, choose to use and what possible alternatives would be. Thanks anyways for your work and for taking us with you along the way. It is very educational!

I love your videos Harry, both Garage and Farm, but I am deeply troubled by the use of such a devastating poison as Roundup on a crop for the human food chain, prior to harvest. I am certain that in the future the human race will regret that we were all fed poison by our farmers, who wanted their combines to get through the harvest without clogging up. Continue to use Roundup after harvest Harry, to clean up the fields. But please Harry, be a pioneer. Stop using roundup prior to harvest on food crops. You are better than this.

I’ll ask the daft question. Spraying a systemic weedkiller onto a crop prior to harvesting means the entire plant has absorbed the chemical. Surely that means that what is made from the rape seeds (or wheat, barley, etc) incorporates the weedkiller which then enters the food chain?
