Good morning, kids! Jason, you're absolutely right about working in the heat and humidity. I do believe that being bunkered out in firefighter gear for 12 hours in 95°F and 75% humidity is what contributed to his death almost 18 years ago. Those people who are trolling you about your verbalizing the reality and discomfort of working in the summer heat, I have one thing to say: Well, bless your little troll 🧌 hearts. Aren't you just precious ? P.S. You have accomplished quite a bit in the 6 months or so that you've been there at Someday Ranch. Both Junod Acres Homestead and Paragon Ridge Ranch admit that it took them about five years to get as established as they are. Anyone who thinks that you're "slacking " obviously hasn't done the same, or was able to pay someone else to do the work.

@marveyellencook.... U sound like a pretty smart person. Can u please tell the Crocker's a message for me. For some reason I can't comment directly to their video. When they are working inside the grain bin/silo, to put a fan in there with a cooler of ice BEHIND the fan. It will blow some cool air instead of blowing hot air. Preferably block ice, if they can. It will last longer. And wrap the bottom of the cooler with a heavy blanket with only the top (lid) exposed. DO NOT set the cooler of ice in front of the fan. It will make the ice melt faster. Something is better than nothing. I don't want them kids to suffer inside there. Please and Thank you. 😊

@katinaross8643 Since this shows up under my comment, I think that Jason will see it. That's an old-fashioned swamp cooler circa 1950s-1960s if I have ever heard of it! I think my parents did that a couple of times with an old metal ice chest when we were at Medina Lake.

Construction workers in Phoenix during the summer almost make me cry. They start the minute there is sunlight (around 4:30am) and are done by noon sometimes 10a. Where you live w/ the humidity, it's 10 times worse. Be careful. 1st goal of every day : No overheating.

I think I've suggested this before that I'd get a portable A/C unit to use while working in the Bin. They sell for about $500.00 which is money well spent. You can keep it to run off your generator if and when the power goes out. Won't feel like an Ice Box but sure won't feel like an oven either. Also, it's OK to lay-up a day or two under the A/C to get your batteries recharged.

Do you know how the old timers dealt with the heat? They wore long sleeve shirts so they would sweat and the wet clothes helped them stay cool. My dad worked for the Highway Department and he wore long sleeves year around. I've tried it and it actually helps. I'm not talking flannel shirts just long sleeves.

Hello Jason & Danielle, I worked 15 years Construction in the Ice Ice Cold well below zero and in the Hot Hot Heat well over 100 degrees in the summer. I worked 7 days a week and 10-12 hours a day for probably 10 of the years! It takes a toll on your body and health. In the summer you have to continuously drink fluids to keep hydrated and in the winter you have to bring changes of clothes because if you sweat too much your clothes will freeze when you have breaks! It sucks working in the rain and also the ice and snow. I was a Laborer/Foreman and rarely had a day off. I setup the scaffolding for carpenters and masons and moved material that each of them needed to do their jobs. If we didn’t work 6-7 days a week they wouldn’t be able to get in 3-4 days of work. Because of us they were able to get work done no matter how cold or how hot it was outside. In the winter we would build scaffolding and load it with all the block, bricks, and wood material and enclose it with tarps and put propane heaters in them so others could work but we rarely would have the heat for ourselves. Same thing for all the other tradesmen. We would always dig trenches by hand for underground plumbing and underground electrical lines and once everything was dug the plumbers or electrical contractors would come back in to get their work done too. Keep up the great job that you both are doing. You guys are awesome and doing an amazing job. I love you both! ❤❤🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
