Welcome back mate. Nice of the hospital to give you a going home gift. Free fevers with every procedure ;) It's a good point about availability online for resources. Had I had access to all of what's available to players now back when I was starting out, I know I'd be a much different player than I am today. Still, there is still something to be said about the inspiration gained from watching and interacting with another player and the highs and lows of the journey of trying to work something out yourself and finding other things on the way. That has its value. But I'd rather have the videos now.

Thanks , George. I feel the same about learning guitar "the hard way." There is a lot of unseen value as far as ear training and just the sheer determination of trying to overcome the hurdles of playing and learning. I often think about how different it would be if we had internet back then . That being said, I don't think I would change a thing now, it's like a right of passage and a tip of the hat to those of us who learned without instruction. I am proud to be part of that group and thankful for growing up in that culture. "The good ole days" when things made sense. Glad to be back, talk soon ! Jake

@@guitarhoarder1972 I'm certainly glad and also feel a bit of pride I was also on the end of the 'hard way' and fondly remember when the internet was not a thing. Kinda cool being the last of an old guard. However it is still impressive to see what some of the younger ones are doing on sheer speed/tech aspects alone. Not for me, but still quite remarkable. Catch you later Jake :)
