Kumdo (검도) or Geomdo, is a modern style of Korean martial arts. Meaning "the way of the sword''. It's a direct plagiarism of Japan's Kendo (剣道) which has the same literal meaning descended from Kenjutsu (ancient Japanese swordsmanship). Some difference are use of native terminology, the use of blue flags rather than red flags for the referees and minor modifications to the uniform.
In this Kendo competition, Koreans are passionate about defeating Japanese kendo opponents and deny the origin of Kendo by donning Kumdo on their banners and uniforms.
