I think she is every bit as lovely here as she was in the 60s... It's almost as though this song has matured with her, and though the story is the same, there is more urgency in the telling.

She was IT when I was in College! Great voice! Great EYES! Saw her in Des Moines, IA during a 60's reunion of lots of singers. She stood out over all of them! RIP Leslie.... I also went into cancer 4 years ago and am still in remission... Just lucky. You'll be singing in the Choir of angels.

When I met her, I was struck by her beautiful and unusual eyes...........they were a very pale greenish gold with a black ring around the outside of her iris.........gorgeous!

We have this habit, promoted mostly through movies, of seeing the decades as separate time periods that stand on their own as if they have no connection. Like, Lesley in the cover image of Its My Pary from 1964 looks very 60s styled and here she is rocking the classic 1980s frizzy hair.. my point is, must have been fun to go through each decade like that, something only a 21 yearly old like myself can only dream about.

Her signature song indeed....can you imagine how many times over the many years she toured, that she sang it...I imagine at times she got a bit tired of it, but then again she knew it was responsible for launching her into stardom, and had to have known how her long time fans looked forward to hearing her sing it at every concert, trying to retain a small piece of their youth....

I was at that concert! The line-up was HUGE! Jerry Lee Lewis, The Everlys, Chuck Berry, Mary Wilson,,maybe others I don't recall. Lesly Gore just shone! She was superb! She really connected with the audience whereas most of the others didn't even bother to try. Thanks for posting this! Great times back then.

My 1962 movie classics as I remember! Well, I will tell you that this is my favorite Leslie Gore Performance since 1962! Leslie is, was the most powerful singer back in the day, that maybe people did not appreciate! Well back in the Beach Movies period, someone had Leslie sing her song, Sunshine Lollypops and Rainbows! And I remember Dobie Gillis was in that Bus!

Boy is this passing going to hit all baby-boomers hard...It's My Party is wired into the brains of everybody over about 55 yrs...This version was some 25 yrs after Leslie first hit the charts at #1..and she still had it in spades...RIP dear Leslie, you're going to be remembered by millions of fans over the next several days for sure!

No kidding; so many many memories of her music on the radio- just loved her distinctive voice and I was so young but I could still be amused at the crushes the boys had staring at pictures of her. She had incredibly mesmerizing eyes.

I have recently discovered her songs on youtube. My question is : Was Lesley a trained singer? Or was she just born that good?. Quincy jones found her when she was a school girl and what an amazing find!. She was on Batman episodes too. My Father grew up with the Original Batman actor in a small town , so batman has a special place in my heart. RH DSD

She already had singing lessons before she started working with Quincy Jones. Yeah....she's great! I was amazed at the power and maturity of her voice as a teenager. She excels at expression through gestures and facial expressions......beautiful smile that's infectious She comes across very confident and highly experienced. I was blown away when watching a youtube clip of her 1964 T.A.M.I vocal performances.
