If you want to wear your hair straight folks got something to say. Then when you wear your hair natural people want to give their 2 cents too. One time I was wearing my natural hair out in all of its glory. Feeling good and fly. Then some older black man yelled at me from across the street "You need to comb your hair!" Like, really? I just laughed because I know that I looked gorge. Haters be lurking around every corner, waiting to spread their negativity. Let them seethe. You can't please everyone in life. Do what you know is best for you.

Robyn Williams I had a similar experience with an older gentleman. I work retail, he was a customer. He told me "you must thank you cute with all that mess on a-top yo head. I guess you following this new craze huh?" I told him that this is the way the good LORD created me, and if he had a problem to take it up with Jesus, not me, and then I proceeded to help him with his purchase with a smile on my face. Bye old man!!!

Don't pay these insufferable blockheads any mind. I'm an 80's baby that lived through a few natural hair movements and many naturals ended up going back to using relaxers, heat, and wigs later on. It's all a trend that will lead to hypocrisy. Girl do you. Using heat on my hair a couple times a month has improved the overall health of my hair tenfold. I regret listening to these "hair extremists" and now I'm going back on my old routine.

First of all, thank you so much for this video. People, including my family, ALWAYS want to tell me what to do with my hair or ask me why I wear "wigs" when I have long hair. It's no one's business...people are just so sensitive. I have natural hair, but I get the heat once a month thing (I get it professionally done so I don't mess it up) and I do it during the Fall/Winter seasons. My hair GROWS like crazy when I press it once a month and maybe touch it up once more. During, Spring/Summer I wear my hair curly or in protective styles to give it a break. People ask me during Fall/Winter, like random girls at school who are like "My black friend in high school said black people have difficult hair. Your hair must be tough. Why is your hair straight? Is that your real hair? Are you wearing weave?" and it's like...wait...do I even KNOW YOU. Why do I have to be subjected to your inquiries about MY HAIR? No one asks people about their pubic hair and how they take care of it...It's gross and really none of their business. In my opinion, same thing with my hair on my head. None of your business. Also, people forget that we as black people are so lucky to have versatile hair and do whatever we want with it whenever we want. Serious blessing in disguise.

This was such a good video, because you are so right about the hair Nazis. People keep telling me why don't I let my hair grow out. But right now I am enjoying the Pixie cut. I have had long and shoulder length hair. I have baby fine hair so my hair can't take a lot of heat. Than one day I decide to cut off all of my hair and go bald, and people was upset with that. What they don't understand is that I am doing me and what makes me happy, and that is all that matters.

I went natural 3 years ago (no big chop). My hair seemed healthier before I went natural also. It really is a personal preference and I had breakage around my edges as well. It was from all of the gel that I used trying to tame my naturally nappy ass edges. I made the decision earlier this year to press my hair more often because I prefer my hair being trained or "heat damaged". If it's easier for me to manage it shouldn't be a problem with anybody else because it grew out of my head and nobody elses. Do what makes you happy.

this is sad your a beautiful women and creative with your make up and hair tutorials. I can understand wanting to "change up your style" but in most of your videos you're wearing fake hair. I don't know you so I don't know if you're looking wearing this everyday. when you go on KZitem or out in public your saying to the world subconsciously whether you know it or not, your saying I feel that my hair is inferior to this fake hair I have on. some women of other races (but not as many) wear fake hair but at least it resembles their own hair. there are women that wear fake everyday but they do it because they have no hair and we rather cover our hair with some other texture. this statement is for women that wear fake hair everyday or a big majority of the time and have a healthy full head of hair.when you really think about it in some kind of Twilight zone sort of way as a black woman if you were to wake up one day and go outside, going about your business and saw non African decent women wearing fake hair that looked afro textured. Inside it would just give you a superiority complex subconsciously to think that your hair is so amazing that every women that has this fake hair wants and wishes they could look like you. this is just a simple analogy. As black women it's sad that we're the only race that plays dress up and pretends it's Halloween everyday. this may sound harsh but it's the truth and the truth always hurts more than a lie. so I can't say it's beautiful because it is not all of you. please women stop being brain washed and see your true reflection as beautiful, instead of a reminder that your reflection doesn't look like some else's . all these complements are coming from people that are so brain washed and actually believe that this fake hair is more beautiful than what grows out of your scalp or that it could be a normal going out look. these complements are genuine and it's not coming from a bad place. but honestly if a non black woman went on KZitem or out in public wearing hair that look afro textured such as an afro, a dread locked wig, or hair extensions that were with out a doubt afro textured mixed in with her hair. people would think she was doing black face or as a joke or people would think maybe, she actually believed she looked better that way. how crazy if this video was a non black woman wearing blatant afro textured hair. honestly how many non black women would actually and genuinely post that it looked beautiful and that it could be an everyday look. They wouldn't post that because it would look weird because it's not natural and it doesn't look like a part of her. just think about it I'm a hair stylist and the videos with your hair it looks damaged. you could have long healthy hair if u took pride in it. I know your young and u don't want to hear it u could say I'm bashing u I hate that term they're others ways to express your self. when u are being criticized by someone it means they care about u. just to give an example our mothers r the most critical of us but they do it out of love because they want us to do better than them and the older we get the more we see how they were right. if u were doing something wrong or there was a better of doing it wouldn't you want to know. I was u years ago no one could tell me anything I matured and accepted my self and invested the time and knowledge into my own hair and it grew I don't have to buy the hair i want because thank god I have it the way I wanted it I got growth from taking care of it hair is like plant. but if u continue to do what your doing and your still having the same problems with your hair maybe what your doing maybe the cause of it. I'm saying this because one day I hope to ses a video of u with your hair either relaxed or natural being healthy and long if u want it.

Oh we still talking about hair right??? ;) I'm gonna do what u do. made an appointment and going back to my old school ways. pressing hair.
