Ford is doing with the Lariat what Ram did to the Laramie, and got them into serious trouble. Whats the point of a mid trim if youre charging Platinum and damn near Limited prices? Ford will still sell trucks, but not at the same clip that they have. Our large volume dealer here has THREE F450s for sale right now, and a slew of Platinums. Yes, trade-ins have taken a dump, for a number of reasons JB mentioned but another thing: BUYING OVER MSRP! We knew this would happen. Guys paying $110-120K for 23 F250 Platinums and will be upside down for quite some time, plus unable to carry forward negative equity. And that is happening virtually on any vehicle that was bought over MSRP within the last 2 years. This is less about a recession, and more about normalcy returning and the market self-correcting. You can only have $2000 truck notes for so long.

Between the absurd pricing and high interest rates. They have priced themselves out of the game. I think people are finally waking up, and these car companies/dealers are going to learn a big lesson on affordability. What would you need to do that you needed a 100k truck to replace a 60-70K truck would do a couple years ago. Most of these trucks are needed to make an income. They have priced most of their patrons out of affordability. Top that off with all the problems all these fancy bells and whistles have that keep breaking down. It's a No Win.

20 to 40 thousand price increase. I can't imagine why. When fordss where selling they where atleast 20 thousand high then. It's well known ford trucks make them the most profits. This has been the case for 20 years. They have a problematic fuel pump. A $8,000 exhaust system that doesn't last. Their is a pump design that they could use. And make the epa required exhaust with flanges so it can be cleaned.

I can see being woefully upside down in this current market. The example you used probably was 5-8k upside down on the vehicle they traded PLUS paid a $10k or maybe more bump sticker and then with the used values dropping due to everyone having almost pre-Covid inventory and yeah, you will be bad upside down. As for why trucks have slowed down, I’ll use me for an example. In “normal” times I probably would have already traded my 2022 to a 2024 to restart the warranty (I’m at nearly 47,000 miles now) but not only are current interest rates triple what I have on my 2022 Silverado, the price of a new 2024 equivalent truck to mine is nearly $10k higher msrp than mine was. So even with nearly $14,000 in trade equity the price of the truck has went up a lot compared to what I paid and interest is stupid. So my payment would go up a lot to get an equivalent optioned truck. Even the Custom trim is about $3-4k higher msrp than my LT was when I got it. So even one of those would increase my payment by an over $40. Not terrible, but I’m not paying more money for technically a lesser truck. I’m sure the Ford and especially Ram guys are even worse than us Chevy guys due to the astronomical prices they were paying for 2022-2023 trucks lol.

Maybe. Or they will just limit production and lay people off. The cost of components has increased. They can't build the truck for the same cost as pre-pandemic. So if the market dies because people can't afford them then they will just shift their focus to F150 or Ranger and put more of those on the lots and those that need a super duty for work are going to have to pay up. We've already seen the self correcting market back when the large SUV craze crashed when the cost of fuel doubled. Then people moved to compact cars and eventually crossovers as the mpg's increased and gas came down in price.

I'd rather put my own "bells and whistles" on the truck. I believe I'm not alone in this respect. These up-trimmed trucks are just too expensive. Then, throw in 6.7/6.7HO diesel! Sheesh! Last July, I received my special ordered '23 F250 XLT SuperCab short bed 7.3L/3.73. I paid $55K and perfectly happy with it. I've added Line-X, BaKFlip, Yoko 35's, Xenon-Pro LED's, Gatorback mudguards, Bilstein shocks to name a few personal upgrades. The truck is still nowhere near those $90-100K thresholds.

I would love one for my needs but who can afford them, or any full size new trucks? Truck makers have priced beyond the reach of most of the intended demographic.

The price’s are just silly! With inflation as bad as it is people are not going to trade their 4 year old king Ranch they paid $65,000 for a $95-100,000 king ranch thats basically the same truck honestly it’s not even fun to go look at new vehicles anymore. I can afford them if I wanted, it’s always been a bad financial decision but now it’s irresponsible to pay these prices.

Way over priced. 96 months loan with stupid interest rates. 100k for a truck?!?! I just bought 2.5 acres of land for 95k. Land won't deprecate, this truck will by 10, 20 K just driving it off the lot. LoL nope, keep it!!!

Over priced indeed. My local Ford dealership, 98% of the lot are F150s, with majority of them being XL, XLT trims. They ordered very few F250s and F350s because they are very hard to sell now. Hell they have very few Expeditions on the lot. 4 years ago my Lariat was only 60K. Now you have XLTs that cost 60K.

I believe a nice trucks should be around 70 to 80k and a mack daddy dually in the 90's. But a single wheel truck shouldn't be much over 80. Trucks in my opinion are about 15 to 20k overpriced. But I get it I sell john deere and people buy a 30k gator with heat and ac for there property quite often.

Unless you have a business that needs a truck and can write off the taxes, you have no business buying a truck. Auto/truck purchases are the biggest reason why your broke, and you will never be a millionaire. Stop trading vehicles, start maintaining what you own, and drive what you have for at least 10 years or more. That $100K truck will have monthly payment $1,737 and will take at least 5 years of payments to break even, not including higher insurance cost. You can be that fool and constantly trade every few years and never get out of the debt cycle your in. Welcome to the Rat Race that you created alone. My Ford F-250 4X4 is 27 years old with 66,000 miles and looks brand new. My Mustang is 16 years old, 150,000 miles as my daily driver. All were purchase with cash.

I have a 2021 Silverado 2500HD LT Z71 Duramax. Dealer keeps trying to get me to trade for a new one. Not going to, my truck built the same way went from $63k to $75k. For the first time I am seeing new trucks piling up on their lot. The ford dealer down the street looks like this with trucks piling up. Had not seen super dutys sitting on their lot since 2019.

There's a lot of people in this country that make good money, believe it or not... as far as these high-priced vehicles go, they are actually selling quite well... Projected sales of new cars and trucks in the US This year is estimated to be over 15 million... of course no records set but still pretty darn good.......

Super Duties should cost 60 at highest Trim level, and 40 to 50 to all other Trims! Ford and the dealers will have to lower the prices. Number already showed we are in a recession. Is in course. All companies showed up less then expected profit. Market is finally correcting. DO NOT START LOOKING ! not now. 2025 is time to start looking for the ones the really need the truck... 2026 you will buy Lariats for 50k or less

JB, thank you for your video. At the current price point, it’s unsustainable to keep a production line full. Ford will have no choice but to offer super financing deals or game over. Future production will be assembled with 80 % robotic appliances. Coming to a production line near you!

Hey JB, Thanks for the video. I recently watched a video from a Ford dealer offering to sell you a super duty at only MSRP. You can tell this video was produced a while ago. Now the tide has turned and dealers are liquidating below cost by giving everyone an x-plan equivalent pricing. on 24's. The 25 orderbook will open in a couple months so clear the decks. Speaking of '25 superduty's, I just bought a new 24 Lariat off the lot I’m glad I didn’t wait to order a 2025. De-content seems to be the plan with the same base price. Changes: 1. 6.8 Gas standard on Lariat. 7.3 now optional 2. Drivers Door keypad is now optional and only dealer installed 3. Leather seating surfaces are now optional 4. Electric adjustable steering column is now optional 5. Reverse sensing system is now optional 6. They removed 12v outlet in located on rear of console 7. Baja interior now optional only with active x (vinyl) seating 8. Now only optional rear power sliding window w/ defrost/tint
