Talk of kitty kisses and the (real life) cat shall appear. ^^ When the game started out, I thought there'd be tripple Dawnservants, with all the siblings taking up a position to from a council... but yeah, as the story moved on, it became abundantly clear Zoraal Ja is too far gone for that to be an option.

Being a conjoined twin and having your other half go vegetable is one of those life experiences you'd probably never wonder about, but here we are, feeling bad for a head we never really met because the other half is a bro.

My body still churns every time that line is said, and that music plays. Maybe it's just me.

How much do you want to bet we get the Mamool Ja as an allied society?

I'm curious if they're going to have 4 societies this time? Because if Mamool Ja are one of them, I just can't see them being a gatherer or crafter one, and the Pelu Pelu have already been confirmed as battle (which I would have assumed would be gatherer or crafter). I wouldn't think they'd do Hanuhanu since they would be so similar to Vanu Vanu, unless they are a crafter/gatherer society to differentiate from the Vanu Vanu. So I'm thinking they either have the standard 3 societies per expansion, but this time go back to how they did it with Stormblood and have two battle societies, Pelu Pelu and Mamool Ja, and then combine crafter & gatherer into one society. Or we get 4 societies and maybe Yok Huy and Hanuhanu for crafters and gatherers. I could see Hanu for gathering, and Yok Huy for crafting just based on their roles in the MSQ so far. [DAWNTRAIL ZONE SPOILERS BELOW] Or I could also see perhaps one being in or part of Heritage Found/Solution 9, or possibly even Living Memory. Both, but especially Living Memory would be kind of perfect for how the tribe/society quests are typically building or rebuilding something. I know we can do NG+ to go back and see Living Memory but I have a sneaking suspicion that there's going to be some quest or something to a) find a solution to the problem of The Endless, and b) restore Living Memory once that solution has been found. Like an Ishgardian Restoration, although I know that's more or less what our Cosmic Exploration is going to be, at least speculatively.

Lol Smile is the most jarring, cringe song possible IMO, every time, it feels like a jump scare. I can't, I have the same reaction to it as an extremely corny dad joke at a funeral.

I actually prefer Smile without the singing

@@Alissandre_Iskander I agree, it's still a little too Disney for my taste but it's a huge improvement. I think it's the Paranormal Activity kind of rumble into the sudden chorus that also doesn't do it any favors, it just slaps you in the face lol.

Smile, in that moment, worked. It was a bit jarring though to just go right into the chorus, and I don't think it's too much of a stretch to make a comparison to The Lion King. Wasn't really cringy to me, but very Disney-esque in a very not-Disney-esque setting. It also works as the end credits where it's a build up from the start, instead of just dumping right into the chorus. (Although I have to admit the lead singer I don't think was the right choice for the song. She did great in stuff like Scream but she just doesn't seem to have the range for the soft/low start and build-up of Smile.) Where Smile made no sense to me was building the train. Maybe as an instrumental, but going right into the chorus and it's happy-go-lucky sounding while you're basically building a bomb was a little weird.

@@8BitCerberus For me it never worked, this scene was the closest it got but it's such sudden Vitamin C - Graduation Song energy for me that doesn't match FF14 IMO, every time it played I starting cackling. It never didn't catch me off guard. And the full version was off. I don't want to drag the singer, she's not a bad singer, but Smile was bad. It was so pitchy and weird in the verses but cutting straight to the chorus is so jarring because of how extra it is. I just find that song so cursed and cringe. I liked basically all the other music in DT but Smile hurts me physically lol
