Mr. Jacob Moller, I suggest you visit Iran and find out for yourself how you will be treated. Your statement about Iranian women is absolutely false. The Persian women are the matriarchs of the family. They are strong and confident. They are the backbone of the families. In Iran, they own businesses, have leadership positions, are members of parliament, film makers, and are involved in science and education. You are either very il-informed or towing the line. If you think you are a Jew and therefore your life is in danger if you visit, I would say you have nothing to worry about, Iran has the second population of Jews in the Middle East after Israel and yes they have representation in the parliament. They are to practice their religion freely. So, please stop the lies.

Ray Fatemi having been to iran myself, i saw how jews, christians etc are a lot more protected and respected in iran than in most western countries ive been to fact is, the government may do certain things but the people on the streets are just beautiful sometimes one must reassess our values, maybe just maybe the western world are the arseholes in much of this. 30 countries provided assistance to iraq in the iran iraq war ffs! i think after mossadegh in 1953, iran iraq war and other incidents, iran has every right to be paranoid

I think Iranians are just like anybody else. They have the same universal desire to be happy and lead a good life. The demonization of the country is often done by political leaders whose foreign policy needs to be critically reexamined.

Could it be that Iran simply does n`t want to become a featureless lump of jelly, like almost all "liberal" western societies, but wants to preserve it`s culture?

Iranians rock! Had one as a business partner and through him I was accepted into the tribe, a very secular one at that. Whereas other Middle Easterners are devout Muslims, the Iranians were more like the Catholics of Islam. Great people. Great food. Great culture. If ever in San Diego visit Sadaf on the weekend-when the DJ is there. Where liquor flows and Iranians and their consorts dance.

This really makes me sick, trying to humanize Iraninan people/culture seems like a good thing, until you realize it's comparable to doing the same thing in Nazi Germany. Well the government is horrible, but the average person is really nice and look at all these sausages and beer!

You stupid fuck, do not compare iran to nazi germany. As an iranian who came to canada when i was 4 (so grateful for that), around me in family and friends, there exists almost unanimous contempt and bitterness over the current government in iran. my family has lost many who were persecuted and executed for speaking out against them. Outside of radicals and fundamentalists, we are people who are oppressed by our own goverment. i would like nothing more than a democratic goverment in iran. but the idea of my grandmother and so much of my family in iran being caught in a war is frightening to say the least.

+mrimsoperfect This guy has got a point. When the Iranian people stood up the brutal regime in Iran in 2009, Obama and other world leaders did NOTHING.

+karlgustaviii It's important to remember, that the Iranian people are not their GOVERNMENT. This is important to remember when thinking about all people/cultures of the world. That people, are not their government. Many Iranians greatly oppose their government. It's actually quite a shame the Iranian people are oppressed in horrible ways by their government. It's always important to have an open mind when talking about another country's people, culture, religion(s), etc... and have the ability to critically think before jumping to a rather close minded conclusion about a subject/topic. Hope you will realize this one day my friend..

The Iran Nuclear Deal is now being implemented lol. Now the prisoners are released. Now, thanks to Obama, we would now have a better relationship with Iran in the future.
