almost if not all the comments here seem to be missing what I think was his point. I believe what he was saying is that Ninja Gaiden has easy execution but difficult enemies. If you think about it, NG has a titanic amounts of autoaim and input buffer windows. You don't have stupid just frame stuff or just in general moves that are hard to do for the sake of it. The controls are very easy and intuitive. That allows for the primary focus of the challenge to be the actual combat itself.

They didnt lost source code. They have it. They openly said its "scattered" and not that its "lost" whatever that fucking means. In short this obviously would require more time and development resources to use NG2's/Black source codes and they want to cut off anything Itagaki did as much as they can so they used Sigma versions as baseline for remasters. Itagaki sued them about royalties and wrongful termination and won years ago btw so on top of what I already said its actually very possible they also didnt wanted to use NG2's and Black source codes because it could open another lawsuit from Itagaki towards them.

@@doooodeh "They didnt lost source code. They have it. They openly said its "scattered" and not that its "lost" whatever that fucking means." If you work in software development, you might know that the code you develop goes into source control databases which have to be maintained on servers and can get pretty big. When a project ends, those databases can be deleted, or reduced to only one entry (the latest release version) or a few entries (usually multiple release versions). In some cases, your game might have a different repository for things like art assets, development tools, and source code. Some companies do backups of their servers to offline storage, and then delete the server contents, which means that the offline backups might be the last known copy of the game's code, and those could be stored off-site somewhere. In cases like that it can be very difficult to track that stuff down, plus a bunch of it might only compile with certain development tools or SDKs...some of which might be third party and out of date. As a recent real-world example. Epic Games releases Unreal Engine 5.0 Early Access a while back. When UE5 came out for real, the Early Access engine versions stopped being available for download. So if you got source code for a UE5.0 Early Access game, you actually can't compile it with the version of UE 5.0 you can get from the Epic Games launcher. If the old Ninja Gaiden code requires a certain specific XBox compile tool from Microsoft (for example), you might not be able to compile the code even if you had it. There's lots of complicated stuff like this going on all the time. It's never as simple as "I have the source code, press compile and go!" in reality.

Sigma is perfectly fine. The differences between Black and Sigma are very minor (although there’s a lot of them) to the point that even if you played both several times you probably won’t notice or care with the exception of the Rachel chapters. I think the vast majority of people will tell you that it really doesn’t matter if you play Black or Sigma, Black is very slightly better in my opinion but unless you plan on really getting into the games it doesn’t matter, you might even find Sigma 1 more enjoyable. 2 is different but Sigma 2 is all you have access to its fine, stay as far away from Vanilla NG3 as possible.
@jsh020
10 ай бұрын
just adding some context to what @assassinonprozac said for 2, og 2 is this insane gauntlet of just throwing a million enemies at you at all times that explode into the goriest splatter, its legitimately non stop and insane potentially to the point of maybe breaking the game and literally destroying the framerate. Sigma 2 is signfiginatly toned down and feels closer to the first ninja gaiden only throwing like 3 - 5 enemies at a time with significantly downplayed gore. basically if you want a schizophrenic one of a kind mess that borders the line between great game and kusoge at all times, play 360 ninja gaiden, preferably at least before sigma. Ninja gaiden 3 is just awful and not in an interesting messy way, its just bad and feels very that era in all the worst ways. Razors edge basically turns a 4/10 into a high 6/10 low 7/10
@0smundSaddler

I actually avoided Sigma 1 for years because I heard this and aside from a new annoying shitty enemy who RARELY pops up (motorcycle guys) and the mediocre Rachel chapters, Sigma is honestly really really really close to Black. Like it is not nearly as different as people tell you. If you played Ninja Gaiden Sigma you can respectfully say you played Ninja Gaiden. Sigma 2 on the other hand is literally a different game and a different experience and is not worth playing in the slightest. Only Ninja Gaiden 2 is actually Ninja Gaiden 2.

What he's saying makes sense, but only for bosses or enemies that are supposed to be tough or scary. Other enemies should be predictable and easy to defeat individually. If you don't believe me, look at 99% of the enemies in any Super Mario title since Super Mario Brothers in 1985. Simple, predictable, no RNG, and they each do one thing. If you played the original SMB from 1985, you remember two enemies where you really had to stay alert: Hammer Brothers and Bowser. The only enemies with more than one action, and the only enemies with RNG. If every enemy was like that, the game wouldn't be fun.

"hard" = set script that negates a lot of your main mechanics, making you wait for the enemy to do certain stuff rather than premptively engage with everything that you have, it feels cheesy but gladly not so much, which still makes the game interesting but fundamentally being a 'beat'em'up' style, it's unfortunate that sometimes developers care too much about having the "hard" tag and ignores that having fun with core mechanics is what makes games trully fun, not being denied from playing the game, because, "gotta be hard", wanna make a hard game then go for complexity, which most developers don't really accomplish because takes talent to pull off, it's much easier to punish the gamer from playing instead, it'd be like creating a hard race track to be driven by a supercar, but instead they wanna make you drive a super old rusty truck with broken tires call it hard, sure you can call it hard, but at what cost? I hate pretentious game developers, and I've played NG out of curiosity and encouragement, still beating on Master Ninja thanks to Doku difficulty skip, but let me you that, the game is interesting but calling enemies "smart" is a ridiculous and abusrd statement, because cheesing enemies to death is most likely the most common way to play the game, not technically, and at some point I think they expect you to play like that anyway, crazy

@@solaris4019 The main difference for me was having less consumables, but after playing on hard and knowing what to expect, and how to optimize your encounters, essences, etc, the game isn't that much different, most enemies are still the same, the ninjas are stronger however (more life), and some variants of the same enemy types, they are more aggressive generally, but if you know how to engage them there's almost no difference, to beat the game on master ninja without suffering you just need to understand the fundamentals, and a lot of people don't, especially because the game never teaches you, it's like playing a fighting game and you only understand 2 moves, the game only got trully hard on certain mission modes (trials), like fighting 2 clones, 3 bosses, and 2 bosses as rachel, those absurd things are not part of the main game, if players know how to approach the game and doesn't rely on consumables for everything then hard to master ninja is almost unnoticeable, with the exception of fiend challenges, most players who say it's hard just play with bad habits, when the game has a clear design and clear incentives that you should follow, it takes some time to learn but once you do it's very basic, also they have predictable patterns because their script of behavior is always the same with them reading your actions, and I believe only normal and below is where more casual and relaxed players can play with more bad habits and for fun, because there's no adds in boss fights, most enemies are basic versions, little to none guard breaks, plenty of consumables, those things don't prepare you, but it can be decent as a warm up (or for the story, which in my opinion is the best part about the game), I think anyone who has some skill with combat should play on Hard and move to Master Ninja, and that's it, Very Hard is pointless (unless you wanna see some differences and play for fun. Jumping in directly to Master Ninja without prior experience could be frustrating and slow, however 100% doable if you take your time to learn in the process
