That all looked incredible! And you are absolutely right. I've never been to Venice, but it is quite common for there to be terrible food choices in the tourist sections of popular cities. I remember in Paris, particularly around the Eiffel tower, quality of restaurants and other shops was not what it was in other parts of the city, but the costs were much higher.

It is difficult to eat well in Venice. When in doubt the best option is to go to a 'bacaro' where you can enjoy a glass of wine (usually only 2-3 euros) and eat various crostini or "cicchetti"...small plates of things like the sarde in saor, octapus salad and various venetian style tapas.

Aha! I now see that others had.already.commented the same. Never mind! In any case, I know eating spaghetti is a challenge but try the age-old Italian trick of placing your fork inside the.mound of pasta, lifting it up so.that the strands on your.fork separate from.the ones in mass of spaghetti on your.plate.and then carefully place the.fork, tines down, on the rim of the plate and twist. All the spaghetti should be perfectly entwined around the fork and you should have the right portion every time. 🙂 You're welcome.
