I got a good hog story for you. I ordered my Land Pride 4' Rotary Cutter from Tractor Supply and it was delivered by a contracted freight company. I met the truck at the culdesac and as I was walking up to the box truck, the driver had the rear door open and said I might not be too happy with it. Climbed up in the box and sure enough it was damaged with all the support hardware all bent to hell. So I called TS and a representative said they would knock money off if I accepted it. Given the damage was to the lifting arm steel, and the fact that I own a heavy vise and sledge, I accepted it at half off. The driver pushed the cutter back onto the lift gate (nearly pushing me off the end), and I said WAIT. Let me climb down first. Apparently there is a major design flaw in that lift gate because the ladder on the side you can climb down on does not have enough clearance between where you put your feet in the "stirrups" and the scissor mechanism. The driver could not wait the ten seconds for me to climb down before lowering the lift gate and nearly cut my foot off. I fell back into the road and immediately removed my shoe and sock, and had a compression wound, but I was lucky. After that I pushed the cutter on a dolly back to my house (about 800') limping the way there. Then I spent the next few hours beating the crap out of the bars to straighten everything up as it should be. I made sure to carefully check that there was no damage to the driveshaft or gear box before I accepted. So, in the end I got the cutter for half off with only minor scratches (it would get the first use anyway) and I was able to keep my whole foot.

On the King cutter flex link system, my 6 footer has worked flawlessly. Somethings didn't look right when l bought it 2 years ago. LUCKELY ,there was some assembly "how-to stickers" on the unit .l them pursued an "owners" MANUAL print-out & away l went home WITH IT & started the Wrenching. It IS CLEARLY MARKED with instructions on the unit "Assembled for shipping & Transport" ; & linkages NEED to be adjusted & "flip-floped" BEFORE USE! I sure am GLAD I learned how to Read since I've been 5 years old. The "unit" has worked "FLAWLESSLY " for the last 2 years & yes l put a "slip-clutch" on it also. No sense in just "Slapping it on" & " going for it" without a thorough PRE-PLAN Strategy. Remember Crew "The Tractor does the WORK"; You have to do the "Thinking Part".

You should probably lower that rear wheel a bit as well. When you are running it, you want the deck to be slanted down some towards the back of the tractor. This will put the cutting edge lower and help get a cleaner cut by pushing the cut grass out the back better.

Right. Your cutting wheel is jacked up too high. Can't you go online and try to see if there is a manual for your rotary cutter you can download? There is probably some useful maintenance information you also want, like ensure you hit ALL the zerks with grease as some may be slightly hidden, and how to service your drivetrain changing the oil in the gear housing. If you dealer set the unit up wrong, there is a possibility they also did not properly fill your gear case with the right amount of oil or right type. If you have been using the unit for a couple years (depends on how much), you should change the oil out and grease everything. Then you know it is really setup correctly. It also allows you more familiarity with your machine/equipment, which is always a good thing.

It is a given that if you buy a King Klutter from TSC or Rural King that will not be assembled correctly. Should have had a owners manual with it that has the correct instructions and diagram for its assembly. If the pinch guard is to deformed to beat back into shape a piece of black pipe a bit bigger diameter than the bolt will work, just don't get a finger pinched in it :)

Where do you connect your upper 3 point hitch? Do you use the upper hole, I have a JD i-match but do not think it should lift using the the existing bushing. It also appears you can lift higher if you use the higher hole. Thanks
