After installing the 2-1 DanMoto exhaust and doing the open air cleaner mod having an tune is a must. In the Raider groups Ivan's tune is the most popular. Here's what I think of it.
thanks for the straight up review my brother you make that bike look good man

All sounds good, except the gas octane, definitely premium 93 runs smoother, 87 is not as good i get miss fire ,and not as smooth with 87, even the user manual recommend using 91 or higher, engines with compression higher than 9:1 ratio is considered high compression and for that you need premium gas, but i understand you can run 87 it will run but not as smooth.

Great vid. I hav a 2015 bullet cowl raider. Ny and Pa. Im gonna send out my ecu to ivan in January. My major reason is for the poppin exhaust sounds, jerky 1st gear at slow speeds.

Hey Ryde, great videos thanks for them. How much heat does the raider put out, especially in city driving? I had a victory that would scorch my leg after about 10 mins of city summer driving, and I'm looking for a bike without that.

Hey bro, I love ya channel. I’m considering getting a Raider. I currently have a tuned Gixxer 750. I love my bike but at 42 years old I love the speed but my back don’t . I never rode a cruiser. I always thought they were slow and heavy. Power wise is the Power of the Raider significantly slower that a sportbike or is it decent to where you can go from 40 to 100 relatively quickly? Thanks for ya content. Be safe bro ✊🏾

The power of a cruiser will never compare to the power of a sport bike. They are slow and heavy. I went from a sport bike to a cruiser at 30 years old and put a lot of work into my cruiser trying to make it pull hard in the upper rpms. It's nothing like a sport bike. I'm 50 and I've had both, and trust me, you have to grow out of that sport bike thrill before you can truly appreciate the cruiser feel. Maybe you need an FJR1300

hell ive been riding for years never even heard of this bike till a week ago, but i never thought of yamamha as being a big bike. beautiful styling handling. and POWER! i have 3 other bikes. a honda 1100 vtx a 1800 vtx and a 2019 goldwing. well i found one of these last week for 4500.00 1800 miles. candy red. bought it. ive been riding since 1970 only been harley till the last 2 years. this thing out performs any harley i have owned. after owning over 30 harleys over the years. i would never buy another one. this thing is nasty. so is my 1800 vtx. gold wing.. highway long distance cruiser. but this raider? lol you better know how to ride or you will endup on your ass. bike will keep going you wont catch it lol this is a secret rhat i never knew. one hell of a bike

Got my ecu back from Ivan and now my exhaust is quieter. I’m not happy about that. I paid good money for a louder exhaust then I paid Ivan to ruin the sound. How does your exhaust compare after the tune?

If someone wanted to hot rod this bike, there's many opportunities in reducing weight. Expensive, yes, but opportunities. Those stock wheels and brake rotors have to be beastly heavy. Stock suspension, the forks need higher spring rates. Upgrading the rear shock would help the power connect. Some kind of forged wheels, or carbon fiber wheels, much less material in the brake rotors, the 35 pound drop on the exhaust, removing all the factory restrictions in the ECU, lithium battery, etc. etc.

Hey RK are you going to have the Raider on the dyno? I'm curious on the numbers. Also how is the lean angle on her? I know she is a cruiser but do you scrape pegs easily? Sorry with all the questions but you seem like a real world/honest Raider owner. So i figured I'd ask. Keep up the cool content be safe bro. (just subscribed) lol

I hadn’t planned on putting it on a dyno. The lean angle is good, I don’t scrape pegs often. When you run an 240 rear tire it increases the ride Height thus increasing lean angle.

@@rydeking4579putting oversize tires from stock also lowers the top speed potential… unfortunately. My bike used to hit 126mph tapped out but I wanted bigger tires. I changed them out and I’m tapped at 115mph now. Hoping I get a little more Topend. Not that I’m racing all the time 😂

Interesting video and comments. I have a 2014 Yamaha VStar 1300 deluxe. I have the Ivan's ECU flash done and also installed the Cobra Powerflo air intake and slip-on muffler. The bike runs good and I guess there is a bit more power (I only run 89 octane). My mileage seems to be about the same. One thing I have found that when I throttle down, it sounds like a loud jake brake. Sometimes the motor seems to hum? I still get some backfire occasionally. I don't know if this is because of getting the Ivan's flash done or something else? One thing I did which I was told by Ivan was to disconnect the O2 sensor. I've talked to bike mechanics I know locally and they seem to have a contradictory opinion that and say it needs to be engaged? I am thinking about installing some NGK Iridium spark plugs and see if that makes any difference.

Are you acquainted with the AMA hot rod cruiser wars a drag racing class developed by the AMA. Yamaha ruled that class for 4 or so years, and gave handicaps to HD and allowed the S&S 120, but Yamaha ruled

Awesome review! I’m close to getting my Vstar 1300 Ivan’s ECU flash. I changed the pulley stock 30T to the 31T Stryker pulley already. I have a stage 1 (air kit and 2 into 1 exhaust). My bikes making 100hp so the pulley change with this really stretches the gears out and making the 5th gear almost like a 6th gear

Thanks for the tip with this Ivan’s Tune. The bike I have is a Yamaha 2013 VSTAR 1300cc deluxe. Performance mods: Big Air Kit. XXX. Vance and Hines big radius pipes 2-1 pipes, Power commander 5 control kit. The guy I bought it from put it on the dyno and said it has 100hp. I have had it at 125mph but ran out of pavement. With Ivan’s ECU tune… how much more u think I’ll get out of it? Awesome review btw

Running 87 will build up excess carbon in the cylinders due to poor combustion regarding a the most complete burn 91 is required not optional. 😂by using lower octane fuel you aren't even able to take advantage of any of the tuning changes. I guarantee the tuning was done with 91 octane or better.
