I personally enjoyed seeing this type of eatery. Not often people share Izakaya cuisine, and I get that it's basically a mix of a pub and a tapas location, but to a Brit, this is still quite new. Weatherspoons, but in Japan :D.

That was the easiest izakaya ever. Usually you have to enter very narrow ones and say in Japanese how many people you are. Then the menu is in full Japanese and the bathroom is in Japanese kanji too that even Chinese can't understand. (My experience)

The word izakaya is made up of the kanji 居酒屋, meaning "stay," "alcohol," and "room" or "shop." So an izakaya is, in the most literal sense, "a shop for people to stay with alcohol." You're welcome (ᵔᴥᵔ)
