Love the tobacco smokey flavor…it’s the same tobacco smoke I get from Johnnie Walker Black. But of course there’s much more grain, and younger grain. But a 1.75L of JWB is $58 and a J&B handle is about $30. It’s priced right and it’s good. It’s one of the best in its class. I find only Teachers Highland Cream and Dewars are slightly better….they are my 3 go-tos and each is only about $30 a handle

Here's my J&B story: 40 years ago, the only whiskey I drank was Jack. I had a friend who owned a nightclub and was hosting a casino night. I agreed to deal blackjack for him in exchange for free drinks all night. I'm dealing away, drinking JD on the rocks, happy as can be. Halfway through the night, our table got a new waitress and I ordered another "JD on the rocks". She thought I said "J&B...". I took a healthy swig and it was all I could do to not spit it across the blackjack table!!! It would be another 30 years before I would try scotch again (It was Laphroaig Quarter Cask, which I loved). Thanks for rekindling that memory - sounds like I need to give J&B another try!

It's an easy sipping blended budget option. Not too thick , goes great neat or on ice. It's my fav budget option. For a budgeted blend if you wanted to try something with higher abv cuddy sark prohibition won't break the bank 50%

gentlemen it is indeed a very pleasant whisky,,i mean it did not taste much like whisky but after a couple of drams you do start picking things out and for an uncomplex drink it is still mildly robust and smooth easy to drink with no harshness or bitterness ,it has a bit of everything and nice drinking neat or with a bit of water probably ice is just fine with this and you catch a nice mellow buzz after a few drams as its so easy drinking ,i am liking this one so far ,def one of the smoothest with nice flavors,i can taste some oak wood and spice on the finish ,nice and sweet just right not sickly sweet ,pear and apple ,caramel or butter scotch, iodine,,the peat is light though in smell and taste but enough to say its a whisky ,the flavors keep changing ,has what i describe as maple tree sap ,maybe its the young grains,i tasted this before in others and then it was no longer there but went to other brands,,hopefully this one stays consistent ,just a simple but elegant drink with everything in there even some sherry notes ,,cheers

@@DurbinsBourbon ohh dont get me started on jw red ,yup it pays to try things out yourself and not follow popular beliefs , red too is quite a unique drink with peat notes and certain highland robust flavours you no longer find in whiskies trying to be more than whiskies these days ,honestly most of these so called mid shelves like famous grouse, grants, ballantines or dewars white label still get the job done every now and then ,sorry for the late reply but i never got notice via email ,only seeing the reply now by chance

I'm mostly a Bourbon drinker too. When I do go for a Scotch, it's usually Glendronach 12 / 18, Glenmorangie Quinta Rubin or Aberlour A'bunadh. I'm not a fan of the medicinal peated Scotches. To me they are like chewing on a bandaid lol.

Carl H the scotches you mentioned are some of my favorites. And those peaty scotches are not for everyone. They can be very intense on the brine, sea salt, camphor, medicine smoke taste. After saying it like that they sound terrible 😂 . I have to be in the mood to enjoy them. Thanks for watching ! Cheers 🥃

My favorite alcoholics... Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, and Joey Bishop. This is good with Ginger Ale, and for me in a rocks glass on ice. Smooth, a no brainer.. There's better, but this is priced just right...
