I'm from Detroit and they played this in the background of the radio station news prompts way before they were mainstream. I didn't even know if was from a rap group until a friend pointed it out to me during high school. This was in 98 and i had been hearing this for almost 6 years

This shit is a 7 bar loop. 7 BARS! Who else does shit like this? Jay Dee was incredibly versatile and creative. He wasn't like a lot of fake producers in the business at the time just in in for status, fame, or money. Dilla LOVED music with every fiber of his being and it shows quite clearly in the music he has left for us. That is why I respect Dilla so much. He did it because he truly loved it.

+coldaziceee - You're partially right, but what you're hearing is the sample he worked with...the Herbie Hancock song. That song is a 7 bar loop, but Dilla fitted into a 4bar loop. If you tap your hands or fingers to it, it's a 4-count. But what you hear is a countermeasure. THAT'S the crazy part of it! So props for even picking that up bro! Oh, that song can be found on Herbie's album Sunlight.

My uncle taught me Hip Hop, little did he know what impact that would have on me. It kept me away from the streets and all that. I listened to hip hop only for beats only in 2022 did i finally understand who dilla actually was and what a giant he was in the music industry. One of my fondest memories with my uncle was him skipping tracks like "I don't know, Players, more especially climax, only years later did i sit down and listen to these tracks and had a big laugh as to the profanity he tried to protect me from. I don't fault anything slumm villa /j dilla have ever done it's dope the way it was presented. Now a 41 year old wife and mom of 2 the best I can do for my kids is crank up the beats for motivation, healing, escapism.❤ from south africa14/03/2024

This is the 1st one of the homework edits when I can listen to the entire thing and it never gets boring. I have sever ADHD, this stimulates my brain in a special way. is it the 7 bar loop, the chords in the sample, the fact that the hi hats seem to be slowing down slightly. Whatever it is, it does it for me. An hour long isn't long enough when the music is this good. God bless J Dilla

It's a mild summer's night, a friday. You and 2 of your best buddies are cruising down the main boulevard in a convertible and this song is playing in the background. An occasional shower of rain just ceased and the headlights are now reflecting on the roads surface. There is this pleasent smell of fresh rain in the air - a light breeze is comming from the sea. Your buddy to the right is smoking a cigar - supporting his arm on the window frame, the one in the back is checking his phone. The engine roars while you speed down the road - you just made the deal of your life. You are on your way to a an exclusive party full of entrepreneurs and interesting people. Life is good, existence is infinite. This is exactly the vibe this songe gives me.

No but still here to try to rally Persuade us like we all girls of the valley in Cali I look up to heaven saying Daddy you gotta help me Truth be told he took office cause he got money Like an O-W-G Thats stands for old-white-guy Old-white-guys run the country They got good credit you can bet it I dont need a script edit I just need God to bless it As this reader tests it As the world can face it You can also trace it Check it and base history on it The vulgar crowd always is taken by appearances and the world consists of vulgar degenerates
