This video, at its beginning, captures the childish interplay between the band members in the foreground. It reminds us that the dancing musicians who have chosen to work so hard to create the world's most popular band are actually just kids. Thanks for this high quality upload.

At the beginning of the video, you can see clearly just how awkward the first years and how the seniors tried to push away that awkwardness after their "Tachibana Tension". Moments like this really makes my heart feel warm.

Brings back my youth, and how much I enjoyed being in marching band. We never got to go to Disneyland (Disney World did not exist when I was in high school), but we did get to perform the pre-game show and National Anthem at Three Rivers Stadium before a Steelers-Cowboys game. That was awfully cool. Wonderful job, ladies. You absolutely cannot go wrong with "Sing, Sing, Sing."

Utterly remarkable. Stunning ! How could they remember all the moves, let alone have the energy to keep going for half an hour - and play at the same time ? I watched and enjoyed every moment. Very good coverage too, great stereo sound. Very atmospheric - and fun !

Insane amounts of practice on a level you don't see so much at that age as you do in adult groups like orchestras, college level marching bands, military bands, and drum and bugle corps. I have no doubt that the kids I was in my marching band with wouldn't be able to take it, at least not the ones who didn't continue playing after graduating because those of us who did continue have built up an endurance comparable to this band. I put in a TON of practice daily, several hours straight and I would have two nights a week where I would go in with the two bands I'm in for group rehearsal if the rehearsal locations weren't closed because of humanity's luck in 2020 so far, specifically referring to that stupid virus. The same thing these kids do applies to the entire music industry, including Japan's idols. It takes an insane amount of hard work and dedication to pull it off and the art of music is most definitely not for everyone, not because not everyone can do music, that's simply not true as the only difference is some are more musically capable naturally than others, but everyone can get into it with enough effort, but because not everyone can keep up with the effort it takes, this industry is unforgiving and if you don't do enough, you will fail.

@Jeremiah Bullfrog We didn't do ten hours, maybe eight, but we put in quite a bit. As for these girls, they aren't exempt from mud hazards. Japan can get that way, though it would be less common in their area. I'll never forget the one time in junior year when the rain decided to let loose in the middle of a practice run of our marching drill. Couldn't see ANYTHING let alone the drum major and had to rely entirely on sound. Where they really have the difficulty is in their marching routine. You've seen all the moving they do. As you may or may not remember, assuming your band covered the concept, sound produced when moving tends to get bouncy, which is not good. Marching already has that issue, which is why most band do the roll step instead of the high step. These girls have to contend with extra bounciness because of their routine, they move A LOT more than a typical marching band.
@Alex20114
3 жыл бұрын
@Jeremiah Bullfrog I thought as much, those are relatively basic marching concepts. What these girls are doing is pretty advanced. Most would be getting the bounce in their sound, but these girls found a way to prevent it.
