I remember my mum singing Fancy Our Meeting as she went about the house. I thought it was a daft song! My head was filled with Beatles and Cilla Black songs and all the others from that period, but now I have an appreciation for the music that I laughed at! This music is wholesome. Playing now is. Who stole my heart away? I could say but better not just in case!

Walter John "Jack" Buchanan (2 April 1891 - 20 October 1957) was a Scottish theatre and film actor, singer, producer and director. He was known for three decades as the embodiment of the debonair man-about-town... I don't know what it is but the style and effect of these songs seem to put me back in those times - as if I had somehow lived then. Strange magic indeed!

@@rw9175 I think my favourite JB moment has to be that wonderful song and dance performance with Fred Astaire of "I Guess I'll Have To Change My Plan" in the film "The Band Wagon". To borrow your very apt words: The nature of MAGIC!

Though he was a great star in his time, I agree with "ChrisWalkenFan"'s comments and sentiment completely. By the way, how about letting us hear the other side of the record!

He wasn't under-rated at all. He was a star of stage and screen on both sides of the Atlantic.
