@@ronseymour4976 An interesting statement about the person they are rather than the person they have invented. What was Jack, and what did he invent? A vet, a writer, broadcaster, reasonably successful soldier (Private to substantive major and acting Lieutenant-colonel) executive of Southern TV and finally TV presenter. Not a classic academic one, but a true polymath all the same.

A co-presenter with Jack Hargreaves- who was actually a programme controller on Southern Television was Oliver Kite. They presented Country Boy but Oliver had his own programme Kite's Country which I assume came via Jack's position on the TV station. As kids in Hampshire, we loved his show and were devastated when he died- TV presenters did not die- and I can remember discussing this sudden loss in the school playground- he had died while fishing. This is the only surviving edition of Kite's Country. kzitem.info/news/bejne/on2bxa1sbmNidWk
