From 00:38:50 to 39:55 The story of the Buddha + Mara: That is IFS! (Schwartz also frequently references Thich Nhat Hanh) Except maybe on that very last note ... why would Mara slink away? 🙂
Loving Kindness is THE key!! I do it for like 10 minutes at least once a day. Changed my life more than anything!!

Thank you. ❤ What a beautiful conversation and loving kindness meditation 🙏 To hear these ancient teachings told so very simply is such a gift. His story of living in the forest during the war in Vietnam and Cambodia and his receiving these teachings resonate now all the more as war is raging everywhere. Thank you ❤

I love Jack Kornfield, he is awesome, I love listening to him.
It's both sad and amazing to me that Jack is one of the biggest names in Western Buddhism and even he doesn't understand or share the teachings of the Buddha. Teaching that you are consciousness, you are the one that does the witnessing, is not Buddhism. And it's easy to see that this is not the truth. If you were consciousness, what happens every night when you go to sleep and experience dreamless sleep, where the body is still functioning but there is no awareness? Even consciousness is impermanent and the teaching of the Buddha is that there is no self. There is no one.

Way too much advertising and talking by Ferriss. Skip to around 8:10 to bypass the introduction and listen to Jack.
