Jackie's session (with Dr. Pamela Clinkenbeard):
Help! I'm a New Gifted Coordinator (Two one-hour sessions)
Every year many new Gifted Coordinators join our ranks. Many of them come with burning questions and some with little or no experience in the field of gifted and talented education. The WATG Annual Conference is a golden opportunity to engage their minds -- helping to empower them and their learners to succeed. This DOUBLE workshop will help set the stage for a powerful, confident year for new coordinators. It will feature Best Practices, boots-on-the-ground strategies, information about the academic, social, and emotional needs of gifted learners, working with other educators, and supporting families, all under the structure provided by the WI Department of Public Instruction. Jackie Drummer, the workshop facilitator and past WATG president, has 40 years of experience coordinating gifted programming and mentoring new coordinators. The workshop will be designed to answer your questions and build your confidence in your new role.
