@@adrienneflowers2237 I've read both versions about who paied the hospital bill. And also read/heard - though in this very moment I forgot - that it also were some other artist, except those you mentioned, that helped with the medical bill. AFAIK Jackie never died of the heart attack (during live performance of "Lonely Teardrops, Sept 29, 1975), though in coma to early 1976, then better, he even could walk a little, until he slipped back into a semi-comatose state until his death Jan 1984. Laying for eight F*****G years! Cause of death from complications of pneumonia. Whatever that now means but I guess he was pretty weak and vulnerable and thus prone to die of such complications. Very tragic ending of a such a phenomenal singer & performer. And personally tragic life, a son age 16 shot and killed. A daughter died by a heart attack (HA) at age 24! Who have a HA at that age?! Another young daughter died of an OD.

+stan smith And the thing is, Jackie Wilson was a tough dude. He had many scrapes with the law when he was young and would fight at the drop of a hat even after he made it. But in those days success was about poise and style. Now it's the exact opposite, with suburban kids posturing like hoods.
@jennapornographyjame

I'd love to see it make a comeback but I highly doubt it. You have to remember this was post world war 2 and the American dream was born not to long after it ended. Maybe if we have World War 3 we may see things change as a result of it. Its amazing how talented this guy was and its unfortunate he performed in an era where racism limited the success of colored artists. Michael Jackson didn't have half the talent Jackie had and I believe he wouldn't of been very successful in the 50's/60's with Jackie as his competition. Of course MTV refused to play Michael Jackson and Prince videos at the beginning but the 80's were a lot less segregated so they were able to fight back.

Before my mother passed away this was her favorite song by Jackie Wilson. My mother loved all of his songs. Jackie Wilson was also handsome as well. No wonder my mother was crazy about his songs and his looks.

He was Michael Jackson's idol when he was a kid. He used to watch Jack Wilson from side of the stage and learn dance moves.

He use to perform at the Flamingo in Las Vegas. If you didn't get there and hour or two early you didn't get in. The guy was fantastic. Never stopped moving and would come off the stage soaking wet.

I think this is the live version that sent shivers through me then, as a nine year old white kid, and I've been searching for it on KZitem for years. That effortless, floating, flying knee drop was the quintessential Mr. Excitement, followed by the rise up again. Phenomenal, too soon gone.

+Sneaka Freaka Listen, I was a youngster back in the 50's. Just going into my teens in the early 60's, so being a kid, I remember the good times. I'm also well aware of the situations of the times back then, and not trying to minimize them.

+Sneaka Freaka I took what you said as an insult. "Putting your fingers in your ears won't help against it either", I thought was not a proper response from you. You seem judgmental.Have a good day!

So sad for the many millions who only heard Jackie sing and never watched him dance. You can buy his music, and it's awesome, but his on-stage performances were something else altogether. He left us way too soon.
