I love the soulful, late works of Menotti - from the early 1980s onward. At that time he experienced an Indian summer, a rebirth. He had long before dropped the burden of fashion and by then had also wiped away the casual glitter leaving just what was in his heart. Lovely. Thank you for posting.

Perhaps a time will come to discover the late Menotti. I like these works very much. The early works are love at first sight (or hearing), but the later works are in a way refined that one must more carefully listen. Menotti knew not to can surpass the thriller-like power of "Consul" and "Bleecker Street", so he started to look deeper in souls than ever before. These late works are less spectacular, of course, but infinetely rich in beauty and emotion.

Is this recording from the Premiere Performance at the ACDA Convention in San Diego? Who are the performers?
